The little angel [ENG-ESP]

One of the photographic works at the beginning of my career in photography was done in the municipality of Regla, on the other side of the bay of Havana, I remember that it was on my first safari together with the school where I learned the technical foundations of this beautiful Art.

Uno de los trabajos fotográficos al inicio de mi andadura en la fotografía lo realicé en el municipio de regla, al otro lado de la bahía de la habana, recuerdo que fue en mi primer safari junto a la escuela donde aprendí los basamentos técnicos de este hermoso arte.

A low-income family where one of its members had special educational needs opened the doors of their humble home to us and let us photograph the sad situation in which they lived.

Una familia de escasos recursos donde uno de sus miembros tenía necesidades educativas especiales nos abrió las puertas de su humilde hogar y nos dejó fotografiar la triste situación en la que vivían.

I was able to observe the marked religious syncretism common in that town, union of Catholic and Afro-Cuban deities. We also saw with our own eyes the enormous shortcomings that they were going through, it was an unhygienic place, it seemed that the house had not been cleaned for a long time, but despite the pain and sadness that we felt in that place, we were never asked for anything, what we gave that day a group of very young boys was all from the heart.

Pude observar el marcado sincretismo religioso común en ese pueblo, unión de deidades cristianas y afrocubanas. También vimos con nuestros propios ojos las carencias enormes por las que estaban pasando, era un lugar poco higiénico, daba la sensación que hacía muchísimo tiempo no se limpiaba esa casa, pero a pesar del dolor y la tristeza que sentíamos en ese sitio nunca se nos pidió nada, lo que dimos ese día un grupo de muchachos muy jóvenes fue todo desde el corazón.
