The job of repairing mattresses.
The mattress repairing trade is one of those jobs that may attract attention in some countries of the world because it may have disappeared. Still in my country, Cuba, it is still practiced, it consists in the repair of these mattresses and also in the handmade creation of these. The change of the springs due to breakage is usually the main reason why customers take their mattresses to be repaired.
You may ask yourself: Why not buy a new one? The answer is purely economic, the cost of repairing a mattress may be only 20 percent of the cost of buying a new one, although it could be much less depending on what you can afford to pay for a mattress.
New mattresses can cost anywhere from $100 to $400.
The photographic work presented for your consideration was made at the moment of the mattress defect, to be more precise, they were checking spring by spring to know which one needed to be changed.
Lino has been working for several years in this trade and with the help of his granddaughter's husband they were bringing this mattress back to life.

Using a UV filter to protect the lens and objective from shock, dust and scratches may help you avoid spending a lot of money, also fortunately they are relatively inexpensive and of good quality .

Something I didn't write on the blog.
The lighting conditions were not the best, the lighting changed a lot due to the weather, at some times it was cloudier and at others there was more sun.
It is important not to be afraid of raising the ISO, well it was just that. I preferred to do it here ;)

I see you have a zoom lens too! I was beginning to think that you go around only with the 50mm :)
If they can be repaired, for older models, they are springs and padding here they call it wadding, some also have foam.
Thank you very much for stopping by and commenting, I started taking photography with a 28-135 which died and I have not been able to repair it, Later I had a 50 mm that still exists, also a 14 mm that I really like, currently I am using the 24-105.
Maybe soon I'll take some photos with the 100 - 400, I think I have to start in the gym, it weighs crazy. I need a tripod to take moon photography hahaha
Equipment is important but it's not the first thing to worry. You are doing great as it is. After decades of craving for it, I finally have a bag full of prime lenses but I realised that although they are amazing and help me a lot, they haven't change my photography itself at all.
That 100-400 sounds like a beast :)

Sometimes it pays to DIY than going for a new item. This would also save more money.
