This time I want to show you the result and the step by step to make a patriotic symbol of my country: The flag of Venezuela 🇻🇪

Esta idea surgió luego de recibir la visita de una gran amiga. Ella estuvo un tiempo fuera del país y al volver vino a visitarme, contándome que extrañaba mucho su casa, sus amigos y todo el país en general. Motivado a ello quise dedicarme un tiempo para hacer un símbolo de la patria para ella, por si se regresa a dónde estaba se lleve un pedacito de todo mi cariño y los colores de la bandera en una presentación tejida por su amiga. Estoy segura que le encantará y le he puesto todo mi cariño. Ahora les muestro el paso a paso.

This idea came up after receiving a visit from a great friend. She was out of the country for a while and when she came back she came to visit me, telling me that she missed her home, her friends and the whole country in general. Motivated by this I wanted to take the time to make a symbol of the country for her, so that if she returns to where she was, she can take with her a little piece of my love and the colors of the flag in a presentation knitted by her friend. I am sure she will love it and I have put all my love in it. Now I show you the step by step.

BANDERA DE VENEZUELA TEJIDA A CROCHET.

CROCHET FLAG OF VENEZUELA.

La idea es regalarle algo pequeño que no le ocupe espacio en su maleta. Puede usarlo como llavero o colgante de su mochila o bolso. Te presento a continuación la lista de materiales que necesité para tejerlo.

Materiales.

❤️ Hilos acrílicos (estambre escolar)
❤️ Hilo pabilo color blanco.
❤️ Aguja de 3,25mm.
❤️ Aguja de 2,25mm.
❤️ Aguja lanera.
❤️ Tijeras.
❤️ Foami negro escarchado.
❤️ Pegamento.
❤️ Pinzas de bisutería.
❤️ Herraje para llaveros: aro y cadena.

The idea is to give her something small that will not take up space in her suitcase. She can use it as a keychain or as a pendant for her backpack or purse. Here is the list of materials I needed to make it.

Materials.

❤️ Acrylic yarn (school yarn)
❤️ White wick yarn.
❤️ Needle of 3,25mm.
❤️ 2,25mm needle.
❤️ Wool needle.
❤️ Scissors.
❤️ Black frosted Foami.
❤️ Glue.
❤️ Jewelry tweezers.
❤️ Key ring hardware: ring and chain.

Procedimiento.

🇻🇪 Para elaborar este bello símbolo patrio empecé tejiendo con el hilo color rojo. Tejí 10 cadenas. Sobre esas cadenas levanté tres vueltas de 9pb. Girando el tejido al finalizar cada vuelta y levantando una cadena antes de comenzar las vueltas.

Procedure.

🇻🇪 To make this beautiful patriotic symbol I started weaving with red yarn. I knit 10 chains. Over those chains I raised three rows of 9pb. I turned the fabric at the end of each row and picked up a chain before starting the rows.

🇻🇪 Una vez terminada la tercera vuelta en color rojo realicé un cambio de color, cerrando el último punto de color rojo con el nuevo hilo color azul. Inmediatamente empecé a tejer tres vueltas de 9pb cada una en color azul.

🇻🇪 Once I finished the third row in red I made a color change, closing the last red stitch with the new blue yarn. Immediately I started to knit three rounds of 9 stitches each in blue.

🇻🇪 Finalizada la tercera vuelta en color azul cerré el último punto con el color nuevo, amarillo. Desde allí empecé a tejer tres vueltas nuevamente ahora con este nuevo color.

🇻🇪 After the third row in blue I closed the last stitch with the new color, yellow. From there I started to knit three rounds again with this new color.

🇻🇪 Al finalizar el último punto en color amarillo incorporé el color negro. Desde ese punto tejí puntos bajos por el borde próximo del tejido, realizado así algo parecido al asta de la bandera. Aproveché los hilos que quedaron sobrando de las uniones y también los envolví con puntos bajos. Terminé tejiendo un punto deslizado y cortando la hebra.

🇻🇪 At the end of the last yellow stitch I incorporated the black color. From that stitch I knitted low stitches along the next edge of the fabric, thus making something similar to the flagpole. I used the yarns that were left over from the stitches and also wrapped them with single crochet stitches. I finished by knitting a slip stitch and cutting the yarn.

🇻🇪 Todas las hebras visibles las escondí por dentro del tejido y luego monté la bandera sobre un trozo de foami, coloqué pegamento detrás de la bandera y la fijé en la parte lisa del foami para que el escarchado quedara visible. Luego que secó muy bien recorté todo el sobrante.

🇻🇪 I hid all the visible strands inside the fabric and then mounted the flag on a piece of foami, put glue behind the flag and fixed it on the smooth part of the foami so that the frosting would be visible. After it dried very well I trimmed off all the excess.

🇻🇪 Me pareció lindo colocarle en medio de las franjas de colores 🌈 un corazón blanco que tejí con el hilo pabilo y la aguja de 2,25mm. Luego lo pegué con silicón frío.

🇻🇪 I thought it would be nice to place a white heart in the middle of the colored stripes 🌈 that I knitted with the wick yarn and the 2.25mm needle. Then I glued it with cold silicone.

🇻🇪 Finalmente perforé en una esquinita y coloqué el llavero. Así se ve de linda esta Bandera de Venezuela.

🇻🇪 Finally I punched a hole in one corner and placed the key ring. This is how beautiful this Venezuelan flag looks.
