Under the Skin, from the original ©Épluchez-moi, is an exhibition conceived by ©Pauline Daniel and aims to raise awareness in the world about the fight against food waste.

According to the self-description of the project,

Accustomed to using the most sophisticated products in terms of fresh food in her work, **the artist decided to release a series of photos of spoiled products, considered unsuitable for sale.

Each screen, which is a photographic capture on a black background, has a name in French.

In this way, the artist captured the images in order to show the more rustic and raw aspect of the fruits in their original state, in parallel with their interior face. So we can see in each frame that it is divided into two side-by-side aspects.

The title of the work refers to seduction and the series questions the attraction/repulsion duality and proposes a reflection on what is "beautiful inside"

The exhibition I visited was available at Shopping Catuai Paladium, in Foz do Iguaçu - Paraná, Brazil. The exposure allowed for image capture, which I did with my smartphone. The rights belong to the artist Pauline Daniel.

Conclusion

This visit to the Under the Skin exhibition was very important. The title already makes it clear that it seeks to show value beyond appearances. What do you have inside? Is the first impression really what counts?

The issue of food and waste is a slap in the face to Brazilian society, since we are one of the largest food producers on the planet¹. At the same time, we have around 70 million people in a situation of food insecurity in the country².

In this way, raising awareness among the population and especially those involved in the food production and consumption chain is an important step towards modifying the social relations that result in such inequality.

Sob a Pele, do original ©Épluchez-moi, é uma exposição idealizada por ©Pauline Daniel e visa conscientizar o mundo quando a luta contra o disperdício de alimentos.

Segundo a autodescrição do projeto,

Habituada a utilizar em seus trabalhos tudo o que existe de mais sofisticado em termos de alimentos frescos, **a artista resolveu lançar uma série de fotosde produtos estragados, considerados inadequados para venda.

Cada tela, que é uma captura fotográfica em fundo negro, possui um nome em francês.

Desta forma, a artista fez as capturas das imagens visando mostras o aspecto mais rústico e bruto das frutas em seu estado original, em paralelo a sua face interior. Assim podemos notar em cada quadro que se divide em dois aspectos lado-a-lado.

O título do trabalho remete à sedução e a série questiona a dualidade atração/repulsa e propõe uma reflexão sobre o que é "bonito por dentro"

A exposição que visitei esteve disponível no Shopping Catuai Paladium, em Foz do Iguaçú - Paraná, Brasil. A exposição permitia captura de imagens, o que fiz com meu smartphone. Os direitos pertencem à artista Pauline Daniel.

Conclusão

Foi muito importante esta visita na exposição Sob a Pele. O título já deixa claro que se procura mostrar o valor para além das aparências. O que você tem por dentro? A primeira impressão é realmente a que fica?

A questão dos alimentos e do desperdício é um tapa na cara da sociedade brasileira, uma vez que somos um dos maiores produtores de alimentos do planeta¹. Ao mesmo tempo, temos cerca de 70 milhões de pessoas em situação de insegurança alimentar no pais².

Desta forma, conscientizar a população e principalmente os envolvidos na cadeia de produção e consumo de alimentos é um passo importante para modificar as relações sociais que resultam em tamanha desigualdade.
