Hello there!
Long time, no see!
Its been over 6 months now since my last post in May. And only two others in the first half of 2023. What can I say to my excuse? Busy father and husband? Lack of time? Out of quality posting material? Or just being lazy? Probably it is a mix of all mentioned and more.
Some of you know, that I was not out of Hive completely, far from it. I was active daily. Doubt that I missed a day or two in that span. But I only did curation work. That is something I am more into lately. Unfortunately, I ran out of ideas for posting and also don’t have much of unpublished material anymore. But hey, I still have most of photos from my last travel that I didn’t share with you. I will try to do that in the following weeks or better say months.
I decided to write a post based on my decision, that I booked another travel. I still remember how I announced all my travel plans here in Hive back in the days. So why not to repeat it now and hopefully wake up from sleep with it as well.
So what do you think? Did I choose Africa, my beloved continent where most of my travels were recently and where I really fall in love with the nature? Or maybe South America which is a series where I have been only once, but might capture best photos up to date. Asia is always option since it offers so much. What is left? Europe, my home continent, which is quite undiscovered from my part, but is waiting for kids to grow a bit and we travel it together. Never been to Australia, but that would really put away great part of family budget, which is not realistic at that time, hopefully it will be once. What is missing? Ohhhh North America, for sure… Easy to travel, quite small budget, similar culture, and Luka Dončič.
So which one will it be? You guessed right, I am travelling to USA again! This time I choose destination where I haven’t been yet and is on a bucket list for many. This destination is…
New York! When? Soon! Very soon… At the beginning of February, for one week. Main reason for travel, the one any only Luka “Magic” Dončič. He is playing three games in four days in NY or vicinity. Two games are in NY, against Knicks in legendary Madison Square Garden and one is against the Nets. Third game will be in Philadelphia and is supposed to be a really good one with perfect opportunity to visit the city as well. Being in NYC for a week, gives me opportunity to visit Washington DC as well on a day trip so that is also in our plan. Ohhh can’t wait already. Hopefully I will take out my camera after a long time and manage to capture some new fresh shots! Kind of miss it a bit. I am not that much of a cityscape photography as I am more of a nature lover, but hey I am sure New York has plenty of good photography opportunites anyway.
Enough for today, let me share some of the best memories from my visits of all the above mentioned continents, sorry Australia, you will have to wait a bit 😊

Hey Brother, long time but I do notice you have always been active on the curation, so I knew you were still here. Glad to see you posting again though. Awesome that you chose the U.S. and hope you have a great time. I'm sure you will find many photo ops and many places to see. Nice to get in some games too, that's pretty fun always. Thank you for putting Africa first and I have to tell you that the gentle Giraffes are now on the endangered list. Poachers, hunters and poisoning is taking its toll and there are desperate efforts to protect them.

Africa will always be my first love. I am still dreaming of returning to Africa wildlife.
Sad to read about giraffes. Such a beautiful creatures. I don't know who could do something bad to all that animals, but I know humans are different with different interests.
Hopefully many generations will still be able to enjoy what I experienced.

People are indeed a big problem, as money rules, and Africa is slowly being stripped of our Rhinos, lions, elephants, oh I can go on and on. No thought of the future generations, as desperate souls need the money now. The syndicates know this and they are happy to buy the animals, so that the animals can be killed and their parts sold to people in other countries.
A very big problem here.

Well similar story is with climate changes. We used to have white Christmas very ofter around year 2000, not to mention before that. But last 10 years no luck. Too warm, way too warm. Another "tradition" that our kids won't live to it.
And we are also sad to read this. So many people still do not believe in Global Warming, as they walk around with open eyes that are closed to the real evidence, such as in your case.
We had another devasting flood last night that killed 6 people in Ladysmith, KZN.
I so wish that the snow will return to your area.

Look who is back! Good to see you here again mate! Announcing your cool travel plans as always to keep this tradition alive hehe :) I personally cannot stay longer than a few days in NYC as my head always starts to feel like exploding from all the hustle and bustle but it´s an iconic city and I´m sure you will enjoy your time in there, especially when you get to watch Luka again :) Oh btw, talking about basketball, my hometown club BK Opava managed to put an end to that 20 years long Nymburk hegemony in the last season, we are the current Czech basketball champions! ;)

I have never been to NYC, so I don't know yet. Haha. But in any case I am staying only for a week and will travel day trips to Washington and Philadelphia. So there will be tight schedule again.
I admit, I didn't really pay attention that much to other national basketball leagues and also not European competitions. Well congratulations! That is huge! Do you play in FIBA league, or Eurocup? Cedevita Olimpija is sooooo bad this year. Well, not only this year unfortunately.

Actually, there are more people who still remember the contests by Tomas, they were very popular :) And back then, the price of Hive (Steem) was very different too so his upvotes were pretty motivating. The last time that I texted with him, he said he relocated to Madeira :) I happened to visit this island (not Tomas though) earlier this year and I can say he definitely picked a nice place to live :)
I happened to visit all of those cities (NYC, Philly and DC) and I think you will love them. Each of them is very special. Cannot wait to see your cool travel reports from those places :)
We played the Champions League but got beaten really bad, our group was super tough - Rytas, Dijon and Patras. Each of those teams probably has a bigger budget than all the clubs from the Czech league combined :D But it was fun. Especially the games with Rytas. Their fans came to my city, like hundreds of them. Many friendships and connections were made between them and our fans :)

Iceland is amazing. Best country for photography, by far. At least from what I experienced. All three photos from Europe are from Iceland. Been there twice, summer and winter.
Itchy feet getting you once again, family commitments and work always hold us back for awhile and have seen you quietly active curating regularly, nice to see content again.
Photography outdoors always interesting mix, sure to find plenty in the cities to keep you busy framing again.
