I celebrated in the streets on Sunday
the fact that I wished you were there
holding my hand
or resting your chin on the top of my head

I celebrated the simplicity of desire
for whatever will be but probably won't
and I danced
because wanting you was enough

I celebrated in the streets on Sunday
paraded my joy for all to see
in anticipation of the shit-eating grin
that will smear itself onto my face a week later and stay
when I forget not to flirt with you
and wonder if
maybe
you like my style
when I catch you trying it out
