Today is Wednesday's walk, but I haven't felt like going for a walk. I hope it's nothing to worry about, but since yesterday I've had a little discomfort in one of my teeth.

However, I thought I would share some pictures of our walk last Sunday. We went to a place in Caracas called Hacienda La Trinidad Parque Cultural. The site is part of what used to be the Hacienda La Trinidad, one of the haciendas dating back to colonial times. And for years, it was dedicated to the cultivation of sugar cane and coffee.

It was in production until just before the 1950s, when the agricultural activity began to disappear. Over the years, part of the land became part of what is today the Caracas neighborhood of La Trinidad, but some of the buildings of the old hacienda remained there.

What remains of the hacienda, the house, the mill house, and those brick buildings that were the drying sheds of the Hacienda have been protected as historical heritage of the city since 1970. And in 2012, its spaces were restored and adapted to become a cultural center. Source

So there are always exhibitions in some of the exhibition halls that operate in some of the old drying sheds. And a friend of my husband's was opening a photography exhibition last Sunday, and we went to the opening.

We visited the exhibition, which was about birth photographs, and after seeing the exhibition and chatting for a while, we went for a walk around the Hacienda.

Aside from the exhibition rooms, there is a bookshop, a handicraft shop (the one with the large carved wooden angel at the entrance), and a coffee shop. We left the coffee for another time as we had a family commitment, but we did stroll through the gardens, which are always beautiful and very well-kept.
