Mural Time!
Hello friends and fellow Hivians. Today's post will be a collection of murals I caught. These were either caught and seen while delivery driving. Some I photographed while delivery driving the others I came back to later. I remembered some of the locations 😃
This mural has a little flavor to it and for that reason, I will list it as my entry to the CCC'S Street Art Contest round 266. This mural is located at Leavenworth Bar at 4556 Leavenworth Street, Omaha, Nebraska. This is a 2012 collaboration artwork done by Maggie Weber and Nicholas Clark.
The title of this mural is Sedusa. It features giant fanged snakes, a bat, an octopus and has some other really creepy things included in it. I think maybe the main figure could pass as the male version of Medusa. Anyways, it's kind of fitting for the upcoming Halloween season.
These two I caught delivery driving in between orders. They were litterally across the street from one another. My last delivery drop off was like two blocks away, so it wasn't a waste of gas!
I don't know the first one made me think these were coyotes. They are pack creatures and often one will go out to lure another animal to it, often domestic dogs. Once the dog engages, the solo coyote leads it to an awaiting pack. It's a sad reality, but I have heard this tale from more than one dog owner. The red moon is interesting because it was recently observed in parts of the world. Did you see it? I didn't and went to bed and forgot about it.
I got a kick out of the second one. Illustrated is a duck man catching a snake. I don't think ducks would engage with snakes, but maybe a half man half duck would. Well this is a bar, so maybe the chances are higher if the duck man had a few drinks in him 🤣 The name of the bar is Platypus, so the mural is very fitting for this place.
These two murals were on the same building. I like the subject matter on the first. I find wolves as some cool beasts and it's rather neat to see its breath being portrayed as an imagine. I love the purple colors 💜 The second one has some nice bright colors and looks like a garden scene. It's too bad that much of it is blocked with waste containers.
I've driven by both of these murals more than I care to count. It's on a busier one-way street, so I photographed both of them on a day I went for a stroll drive. You can see both at the same time as they are just a few building apart from one another.
I find both of these cool and simple. The barbershop one really meets this criteria. The sheers on it make it a tad better than some other similiar ones I've seen in the past.
I really like the second one for a couple of reasons. I have heard the terminology of a brainwash several times, but I can't recall if I've seen a mural of it. A cool simple mural that portrays what one would think of a brain wash. Two birds and a stone on this one, let me explain. I have been searching for a local place that serves some particular seafood that I enjoyed on my recent trip to Massachusetts. Low and behold, I found a place without giving much effort. I used Google Lens to find out more information about the mural and found Shucks is a Fish House and Oyster Bar. There are so many delicious looking menu items and one thing in particular is served here, a lobster roll 😁 I will definitely try this little hole in the wall place out. Where are you on your search @melinda010100?
Heres two more murals that were also very close in the area with some others. The first one is very cool. I like how the subject matter is a street view on the building. I like how some transportation is included, like the Volkswagen bug and the bicycle. Also included are some people who appear to be at the bar enjoying themselves. It's also neat how they painted some bricks on top of a brick canvas. The building is the site of Barrett's Barklycorn Pub & Grill. On the backside of the building is a sand volleyball court that is used for league play.
The second mural is obviously a sports car with a unique color scheme. This is adjacent to the parking lot of Exclusive Repair. They specialize in unique paint jobs and custom looks for vehicles. A mural to match what the business actually does.
I hope you enjoyed the murals. Were there any that were your favorites? I saw and captured quite a few more, so I will share some of them next time.
Take care, stay safe and enjoy the rest of the week. Until next time!
Isn't it amazing how much artistic talent there is in this world? These are just more examples of that talent!
Yes and the great thing about street art it serves the community well and is free!
Sending you Ecency love

Nice murals! The first one has a lot of cool elements, very nice find. I haven't been to Omaha in a very, very long time... Those are some other really nice finds with the coyotes and the wolf. The barbershop was nice a lively too.
Great eye for catching some great art!
There is so many murals in Omaha. I took some others as well. I will have to share another time. Plus there's many more to discover. There some really good ones.
I've lived in this area now for over 30 years. Once not so big is quite large now. Population wise its not large but not small either. Just about the right size in my opinion. Take care.
