Being a Caveman- Week 144 Weekend - Engagement
Hello all I'm taking part in @galenkp weekend engagement topic. My very first article taking on a topic offered by another author here on this platform. Please check out his article
and consider choosing a topic.
Actual photos by me of Rushmore Cave, South Dakota
I am an outdoorsman and thought of going back lets say 15,000 years does not fear me. I would welcome the opportunity to live off the land and be resourceful of what nature has to offer me.
The cave life for me will be in an under ground cave. The temperature in Rushmore Cave for instance stays constant around 15 degrees Celsius all year around. So it's not freezing but not warm. This is the type of cave I would hope to find. Our animal skin/fur clothing and blankets will suit us well.
Who should I choose to accompany me as a cave women? Well I'm not going to look everywhere so I'm selecting some one right here in the Hive community. Hey this is for fun, right? So without further review this person is @duvinca and let me share why.
She is an excellent nature observer, this will help her gather fruits and vegetables through out the woods. Also she is up to the task of adverse weather because she has spent quite some time in the windy City of Chicago. Being very active is in her DNA. She goes for walks and runs often. I need a cave women who is athletic.
I think her niche in great photography and finding awesome street art can translate into some nice wall art in our cave. Also I'm sure her culinary skills will be a huge bonus. She could also help me with my Cave Spanish. I'll some day reward her with a saber tooth necklace.
There needs to be a set schedule everyday to include tasks. One task would be getting wood. We need wood for fire, arrows, and spears. Another task would be collecting water. We need it not only to drink but to clean up with.
Maybe not a dailey activity but we need to forage for food. With streams thier are fish and on land there are animals. We would forage smaller animals in the warmer months and larger ones in the winter.
Thinking a woolly mammoth 🦣 would have been a very resourceful animal to harvest. What a tall task it must have been to take one down though. Obviously it would offer much food, an abundance of fur and of course those tusks. Fur could be used for clothing, blankets, forming some comfy shoes and other usages. Tusks could be repurposed into tools, blow horns, and maybe even into drinking cups.
Another thing to gather would be rocks and stones. We would use these to make tools, use for the outer brim of the fire pit, and for flat surfaces to do tasks such as harvesting our food sources.
Interesting topic to write about and it makes you think what it must have been like living way back when. There's going off the grid but going fully caveman is something that I would guess that not many could do. Do you think you have what it takes to be a caveman?
This all I have, I hope you all enjoyed. All photos were taken and owned by me. Have a great rest of your weekend!!
I am more curious about how you and @duvinca met hehe.. You guys will be a great cave couple.. !PIZZA
Hello! I just need to cross the Atlantic ocean to arrive there 🤣🤣

OMG! jajajaja thanks my dear amigo! 😂 I have been imaging the situation while I was reading. It should be definitively a Mediterranean style cave life jajaja, good food, nice decoration (why not) and I would appreciate that saber tooth necklace! Spanish cave could be very trendy maybe 😉
Well I have to say that today I will take a flight (not in that cave times) well a canoa to America to go to that cave because here it's insane, 30ºC degrees and the sun is not warming but burning! It's incredible hot today like in August and maybe this is my weekend experience, just feeling hot 😅.
Yours sure fresh like being in that cave, thanks a lot Bob for your nice post and for choosing me! ❤️🤗 !LUV

No problem, that cave is huge. We went in August to visit a few years ago. Felt good getting out of the heat. A few more photos of it but it had people in it so I left them out. Thanks for the appreciation see you around :)
If there's a chance that I'll become a caveman I think, I can't handle it without technology, I was born in tech world which gadgets became part of my life, however, living in a place with simplicity is more preferable, living on caves comes with danger and it's a survival of the fittest.
Yes competition for sure but we just got to show our Alpha or Lion when our caves are challenged by others. Of course keep the protected from the cave bears and other predators.
Yeah thats' the reason why humans are at the top of food chain, in fact we are the most intelligent animal on the planet.
Lol, I can imagine you as a caveman. I must confess, it's not for me. Obviously, if there would be no choice, I would adapt, but would never choose cave life. Foraging is a good activity. I went foraging once with my dad, where he lives, but the problem is, almost all the land there is private property and I don't want to get into trouble. But we got home with a bunch of plums (made jam) and peppermint. Was nice.
You need survivor skills and it's not easy living without some technology. Sure throw me in I'll figure it out. Just not in the dead of winter when it's freezing, lol.
Never really had a chance to forge for fruit and vegetables. If I did it would have been stealing, lol. I am going to try mushroom hunting this spring with someone that knows what to look for.
I've been to a cave only once and the memory still remain in my mind because I don't have any picture of it.
Being in a cave is good but I don't know if I can live in it when given a chance.
There fun to visit especially the under ground ones. Yes living would take some getting use to.
Visiting a cave will make you see the wonders of God's creation. I am amazed by the formation of stones below.
Ain't that super cool, big bro? For sure, you and @duvinca will have a lot of fun. Plus, the temperature is just right. 15 degrees to me though is cold 😃
Oh ya 15 degrees cold for PH. It would feel good when its 40 degrees for a second or two. After doing this I feel like doing my own challenge and mentioning some peeps.
Challenge sounds good, big bro! (tappin' fingers)
