Wild & Exotic Beechmont

Went for a stroll yesterday, just wandering around the neighborhood. Still not sure how exotic Beechmont is but it definitely manages to live up to the wild from time to time.

Does this count as exotic or just Mad Max? Was moseying my way down Southern Parkway when I looked across the street and saw what appeared to be an engine block sticking up from the back of a car. Closer inspection confirmed that it was indeed an engine, mounted on a cherry picker and apparently just strapped in. What in the name of hillbilly engineering is going on here?

What a fun game! Louisville drivers aren't exactly known for their adherence to speed limits, stoplights, or even the streets, so I'm not sure what warning lights are supposed to accomplish. Earlier in the morning a middle school teacher had been hit by a car while in a crosswalk, so this just seemed cute.

Vicious guard dog was going to eat me alive if it wasn't for the fence. Better get back inside before the hawks come back. . .

Out of curiosity, do the banks have metal detectors where y'all live? Just seemed strange to me, for a place with trust in the name, they sure don't seem to be banking on it.

Speaking of trust, I've come to see that as an important element of street photography. Took this gentleman's photo as he rode past and the next thing I know he's turned around and is heading straight for me. Turned out he just wanted a copy of the photo but you're never entirely sure how people are going to react to having their photo taken.

Got spotted by an old friend and roommate and had to drop in to the coffee shop to catch up for a bit. He'd help open the coffee shop many years before and had just moved back into the neighborhood, was finding it interesting seeing how many of the same faces were still hanging around.

Thanks! You ain't kidding, although we may skip spring and head for summer, all next week we got highs in the 70s. Buttercups and crocuses are already starting to bloom here, how bout in your neck of the woods?

We got an inch of snow yesterday, but warmer temps are on the way! I see a couple days in the 60s predicted.
