Wednesday On The Weekend

It's Caturday! Maybe not in your neck of the woods, but around here it is. We've been on a new schedule recently where the weekend starts on a Wednesday and ends on and Friday, got us all out of sorts. My neck's been out of sorts too, haven't shot (cameras at least) for a couple weeks, think all the running around with two cameras finally caught up with me.

Finally got the Nikon back out today, the yard flowers were calling to me and I couldn't resist any longer.

It's 'strangers stealing sunflowers' season once again here in Louisville. Saw a car pull up in front of the house the other day and thought one of my neighbors were getting another DoorDash. Peeked out again a couple minutes later and the car was still there, but I couldn't spot the driver at any of my neighbors' houses. Finally spotted her in my yard, cutting herself a handful of sunflowers. What the actual fuck? Is that normal in other places?

Pretty sure I'm going to regret this but for the past year and a half I've been letting this weird thistle plant grow in one of my flower beds. The googles told me it was some sort of globe thistle, which I'd never heard of. Ordinarily, any thistle is on my Sheriff John Brown list, kill it before it grows, but the photos of globe thistle looked cool enough that it got to live. This time. Hopefully it's not like the time we thought mullein looked interesting...

Took a notion and decided to start me a photo club. It's a lot easier to have the idea than it is to make it happen, but after some fits and starts we got together today. All two of us. Met up in Central Park and shot DSLRs and Polaroids, was rather nice. Had forgotten how much more you see with an extra pair of eyes.

Going to do it again soon but that was enough for one hump day Caturday. Going up to Chicago next week, should be making up for my recent lack of shooting soon.
