Under The Needle
I turned twenty-one in prison, doing life without parole. Mama tried. Didn't do nary bit of good. Mama Tried Tattoo Parlour here in Louisville is a different story.
My partner has been going under the needle there for a little over a year now. Victoria here has been working on their arms and was kind enough to allow me to take photos of the most recent visit.
The fairy tatmother here worked her magic by the light of a ring light. I'd never messed with such gadgetry before, but it was actually rather handy.
Don't think I've ever gotten to photograph art-in-progress before, was a fun time. Have always had an interest in tattoos but before this had never really paid close attention to the process.
Tattoos aside, the place was a mini art gallery unto itself. All the walls were covered, made for a pleasant atmosphere to get some art applied to oneself. I settled for a mirror selfie.
We'll be seeing Victoria again soon, so I'll stop needling y'all about it until then.

It is not easy to make it. It is beautiful after making it, but before making it, there is a lot of fear. And here we see that people still make it for their own pleasure.
