Shooting Music

Since getting asked to cover my first music festival last year, have tried my best not to pass up an opportunity to take photos of live music. Had only shot a handful of shows before the festival, was definitely taking the 'learning by doing' approach, so extra practice is always nice.

Between finding ways to work around mic stands, looking for new angles, and always trying to get closer, there's plenty to practice.

Decent light is usually too much to ask for at a show, best to get used to working in the dark.

Photos are a mix from a few different events this year, Earth Day on Loving Farm, the recent Democracy Festival and the South End Community Market.

About time for me to tune out for the day, but since it is Memorial Day here in the disunited states, should probably leave you with a song to mark the occasion.
