Pretty Fair
It's that time of year again. The fairgrounds here in Louisville is full of people and critters, food and rides, and whatever those La BooBoo things are. In other words, it's Kentucky State Fair season.
For eleven days in August each year, peak people watching is in full swing at the fairgrounds here. Always try to catch at least one day of it, managed to accomplish that yesterday.
It is always a unique experience, one best approached with a mindset of 'don't ask questions.' Saves time and trouble, plus it cuts down on the number of "why would you deep fry that?!?" conversations you have to have.
Tabula rasa, just let it wash over you. More calories than you can shake a stick at, will that be cash or credit?
Just don't forget the sunscreen. Yesterday was cloudy and grey, which made for the first State Fair day that wasn't absolutely scorching. Terrible light and all, I'll still take it.
Surprisingly, only saw one person I knew, but ran into plenty of photo subjects from years past.
Just about time to ride on out of here, going to try and catch the final day of the fair tomorrow. All in all it wasn't a bad way to spend a day.
Could even say it was pretty fair. . .
