Night Of Jack O'Lantern
Do you know Jack? He lives around here somewheres. There's a park just up the road from me that gets a little spooky this time of year. Jack O'Lantern Spectacular they call it, more than five thousand of the ghastly gourds packed into a third of a mile of trail through the woods of Iroquois Park.
We went for a #WednesdayWalk the other day to check things out, see if it was something we should be concerned about. Turns out we weren't the only ones with that idea, the line started forming well before dark.
Wasn't too bad when we got there, but it grew rather quickly. The tickets are for hour time slots, but that's just for when they let you in, you can take as long as you want on the trail. We were in the first group, for 1830, but they don't start letting people in until dark, so we had a bit of a wait.
It was well worth the wait. Once you got in, it was pumpkins here, there, and everywhere.
The theme for this year was rather punnishing. Or puns, rather.
Punny pumpkin path, now say that three times fast. Most of the pumpkins were carved, but some of the larger ones were not. Don't know if they were painted or how they managed to make it but the artwork was spectacular.
Trying to decide what to shoot was almost overwhelming, jack-o'-lanterns in every direction, even up in the trees.
They didn't mind if you took photos, you just couldn't use flash. Didn't want you scaring the spooks and spirits.
They have to replace the pumpkins every three to six days, which makes for a bit of an undertaking when you consider that the shindig runs for a month.
Mr. O'Lantern wasn't signing autographs while we were there but we got to hang out with all his friends, made for a spooktacular time.

Fun times! It’s got to be done by the same organization as the one I attended a week and a half ago.
Ha, yep, it's got to be. I can't remember their name but I think the org is out of Pennsylvania. It's neat to see that they do similar stuff and yet different, none of the large pumpkins you posted were the same as the ones here.
Wowwww, amazing shots, amazing event
