Morning Market

(Edited)

It's farmer's market season here in the city and the South End is no exception to that. Starting last year, I've been documenting the South End Community Market in Iroquois Park each Saturday.

From May until late October, each Saturday morning the community comes out to the park to peruse the wares of an assortment of vendors. Food, handicrafts, and more occasionally books and plants are all to be had, usually with a bit of live music for entertainment.

Set out to document the weekly shindig without any real plan as to what to do with the output aside from posting here on Hive. Never fear, the internet is here.

My partner recently discovered a dirty little zine maker, after seeing the Shaker Village zines they made with it, it might be just the thing for the community market.

What do y'all do with your photos when you're not posting them on Hive?

I don't take a lot of photos anymore. The wife is the photo taker and usually posts them on her Farcebook account. I;ve tried to get in the habit of taking photos before, but it just never took. May break out the camera and try again.

On another note, wife and I were gonna hit the New Albany farmers market, but I slept in really late. Guess we will get it next week. Always love farmers markets.

I feel ya, was the same way for a long while myself. It'll stick sooner or later. I had to retire from drinking, which left me with an abundance of free time and in need of a hobby that wasn't self destructive, figured if I couldn't shoot guns I could at least shoot with a camera.

You probably would have gotten rained on anyways. How is that one? I've been to a few different ones here but I don't think I've ever been over in Indiana that early in the morning to catch one there.

Haven't been to it in sometime, since last year. It had a wide variety of fruits and veggies, baked goods and wares.

Hello @coloneljethro.
Please do not forget to add the #monomad tag to your post (together with the other tags), or we might accidentally miss it while going through all the entries.
It would be a shame not to include one of these images in our selection. 🙂

I blame the cats. It was there, I swear, and then somebody snuck off with it.

The baddest. May have to cut back on the catnip rations around these parts.
Thank you!!!

What do y'all do with your photos when you're not posting them on Hive?

Share them with family, especially pictures of pets in cute poses and the granddaughter in any pose :))

It's such a lovely little market :)

Nice, that's usually what half our christmas presents are. There'll be no grandkids in my family though, so it tends to be more candid portraits and photos from adventures.

This felt like a small gift: It's farmer's market season here in the city and the South End is no exception to that., it's the kind of post that makes the feed better.
