Highlands On A Sunday
Remember the good ol' days, when all we had to worry about was the hipsters with their beards and PBRs ruining everything? Skyline Chili remembers. . . Anybody else call empty beer cans 'dead soldiers,' or is that a purely American thing?
Headed to the Highlands this afternoon to see if anything was happening. If you ever find yourself in need of something but aren't quite sure what, the Highlands is the place to be. There's usually something happening there, although sometimes it's best not to ask too many questions as to what that is.
Realized today that almost all of my time in the Highlands has been on weekdays, the vibe on a Sunday afternoon was a bit different. Less drinking, more pets/children afoot. Just a slower pace to things, or at least an abundance of Sunday drivers.
Nothing else slows people down in this town. The weather was glorious, which meant the motorcycles were out in full force.
Making art on the sidewalk isn't exactly a common sight in this neck of the woods, but it ain't out of character either. For a while there we were overrun with 'Keep Louisville Weird' bumper stickers and t-shirts but the Highlands came by it honest and never really had to try.
Wasn't just motorcycles out cruising, saw more than a few classic cars but this Willys Jeep was probably the most eye catching. Should probably be catching some shuteye now, so until next time remember to always shoot first and ask questions later.
🎉🎉🥳 Congratulations 🥳🎊🎊
