Hey, What's That Sound?

This country is having itself a moment. Not the good kind either, more the sort that keeps therapists solvent and livers scarred. These disunited states' 250th birthday is coming up, and for the occasion they swapped out 'land of the free' for 'comply or die.' Curiously enough, all the bad seems to have had an inverse effect on the music.

Haven't partook in #ThreeTuneTuesday in some time now, but with all the new tracks inspired by current events dropping it seemed like a good time to jump back in. Photos are from the protests here in Louisville in response to Renee Good's murder.

Boots on the ground, boots on the ground, we've had a lot of boots on the ground recently. In US cities, in foreign countries, and then with Massive Attack and Tom Wait's Boots on the Ground. Can't decide which is more powerful, the song or the accompanying video, but either way it's been stuck in my head since it dropped a week or two ago.

Didn't take long for all the boots on the ground to lead to Blood on the Wheel.

Now they don't care none
Badges they don't wear none
But soon enough we'll all be shooting back at you

With that track, Everlast and WLPWR really captured the mood in this country in the days after Alex Pretti was murdered. From there it just comes down to Who'll Stand With Us? Dropkick Murphys dropped an anthem, but it's not just applicable to these parts, there's also a Ukrainian version.

Alright, that's enough out of me. Anyone got some their own favorite tunes 'inspired by current events'?
