Here For A Good Time, Not A Long Time

Life is short. In these turbulent times you never know what might happen, so why not enjoy yourself while you can?

In my 20s I took 'live every day as if it were your last' a little too seriously. Don't know if my liver will ever forgive me.

These days my notion of enjoying myself plays out a little differently. Don't go at it with any less enthusiasm, it just hurts less.

Feeling like desperados under the eaves sounds better in a song. Getting to know your neighbors at the community market sounds like a better plan in the unsettled land.

Good food, good people, good street photography opportunities, sounds like a good time to me.

Play on y'all!

I love to live life in a relaxed way. Making the decision of not seeing any tv after one week off the grid, during my August vacations, was the best decision I haver made. In beginning, it is strange to see your friends talk about the Orange Guy, or Soccer, and not knowing what they are talking about. But nowadays the turnover of being out of those noisy distractions is very very positive!
Thank you for sharing with us this great set of photos! I'm pretty sure that your liver already fully recovered from your wild 20's period... 😅

It really turns the volume down. Ha, nice! Couldn't tell you the last time I watched tv, it's been years, although there was never a conscious decision not to watch it. Lol, that's one habit I haven't picked up. There is always that bit of disconnect but I feel like that's a small price to pay :D

I've adopted a few weeks ago, when I arrived from vacations, and the small price of disconnection for me is absolutely magic! It kind sounds like a gold prize! 😅

'We take care of us' was one of our mantras during the protests in 2020, with every year that's passed that has seemed more and more important.

Sounds familiar. When I took my husband home to recuperate last May, instead of letting them send him to another institution (rehab), I said to the hospital staff: "We take care of our own".

(I just upvoted my own comment!!)

Eat, drink, be merry, and play music, for tomorrow the feds will be in your very own "war-ravaged" backyard!!

Love these shots. You're really good at capturing moments.

Exactly! Can't help but wonder if somebody showed him photos of Gaza and told him it was Portland.

Thank you. The photojournalism workshop I did last year really emphasized that, feel like it helped me and my work so much.
