Earth Day Down On The Farm
“My loyalties will not be bound by national borders, or confined in time by one nation's history, or limited in the spiritual dimension by one language and culture. I pledge my allegiance to the damned human race, and my everlasting love to the green hills of Earth, and my intimations of glory to the singing stars, to the very end of space and time.”
--Edward Abbey
Earth Day was this past Tuesday, but down on Loving Farm in Nepton, Kentucky, they were kicking things off early.
Last Saturday the tobacco barn turned Nepton Warehouse was full of fun, food, and folks celebrating the Earth and enjoying a little community.
Did I mention music? There was a bit of music too, all day long, with three different bands playing the day away. We had to go make prints with the steamroller that morning and didn't make it down to Loving Farm until the second band, Hogtown, was finishing up their set.
Still had a grand old time and it definitely seemed like we were far from the only ones who could say that.
Or at least it was highly likely folks were having a good time.
It probably helped that Highly Likely was the band closing out the days festivities.
Music was far from the only fun going on, there was an art station set up where you could paint your own plant signs, a vegan hot dog cart, and just to make sure things were festive, the local brewery had put in an appearance and was selling beer.
Seemed like half the community dropped in to check things out at one point or another. This feller even brought one of his horses along to check out the shindig.
Marietta and wife Perriee here are the ones who organized the whole shebang, not to mention being the ones making Loving Farm grow.
Doesn't hardly count as a proper pickin'n'grinnin' if there's not at least one person clogging.
If the Earth is in half as much trouble as they say it is, we're all likely in for a hell of a time. In such times it's community, people looking out for and supporting one another, that gets you through. Was rather nice seeing this community come out, come together and have a good time.
There's rumors this could turn into an annual thing there on Loving Farm, got my fingers crossed that turns out to be the case. Until then, let's try not to completely wreck this rock we're stuck on.

Wow, @coloneljethro, your people shots are always great but these are next level! What a sweet gathering. I hope it continues. Looks like something I'd like to attend one day.
Thank you @corvidae :) It was such a great little get together. I think you'd enjoy it, plus Loving Farm is an organic flower farm, and there's definitely some crows and plenty of ducks to boot.
So dreamy!!
The day becomes even more joyful when all the music lovers gather in one place and listen to the music they love.
