Coffee After Midnight Ramble

Dear Elon Musk, could you please buy Facebook next? I hear they're doing bad things to free speech there and could use your magic touch.

"Rich Asshole Buys Social Media Company, Shitshow Ensues" Why does that sound familiar? Almost feel sorry for the twitterati, ain't no fork in their future.

Got to hand it to Musk though, that's one hell of a dilemma he's put Trump in. Does he stick with his twitter clone in hopes of making a quick buck or feed his attention habit and go back to twitter?

*Did y'all see Florida Man makes announcement? Seems like there's more than one billionaire messing with the dotard.

Apparently it was quite the party, the sort that you can check out anytime you like but you can never leave. Or at least not until the Indictable One is done speaking.

Even though we're still got nearly two years to go it's already shaping up to be another one of those 'Richard Nixon for President' sort of elections. Almost enough to make you want to head for the hills and stay there.

Probably wouldn't help, it'd just flood or catch fire and burn up. Or get six foot of snow dumped on you like Buffalo this weekend.

In news that seems fitting for a 'Made In America' sticker , the Animal Liberation Front has struck again. About 10,000 mink were 'liberated' from a farm in the neighboring state of Ohio and now there's some concern they might survive by snacking on pets and livestock.

It's after midnight and I'm still drinking coffee so I'm going to bring this to a close before it goes any further off the rails.

Too late!

You went all colour with this one, except the last photo, since I went looking for b&w, there had to be one. Nice ending, or should I say that at the end of the comment? Oh well.

I can't comment on politics since my tendency has always been to ignore that stuff. My favourite photo is the one with the pigeon, the angles and the light, kept going back to that one. Also really liked the third photo, the expression of the guy, the woman with that shock of red hair and the overall composition (would look good in b&w), same as the one with the guy laying out on the chair in the crowd.

Thank ya! Lots of times when I edit in b&w I'll have a few I like enough to edit in color as well. Then I post the b&w photos and have no clue what to do with the color ones, which is where most of these came from.

I wish I could ignore it but I can't help it. The pigeon shot is my favorite of the bunch, was wandering Washington DC with a wide angle lens and couldn't pass that up. Lol, the third and fifth photos are from Thunder Over Louisville, it's peak people watching/street photography. Part air and fireworks show, part mass public intoxication, it's something to see. Dude in the chair had started his festivities early, he was just passed out drunk. (If you look closely you can make out the top of the whiskey bottle behind the hat sitting on the ground next to him.)

LOL and you're welcome!

I get you there. Canadians prefer to watch US politics, which says it all, lol. I became jaded by it when I was nineteen, involved a bit in some things at the time, and got a window into what really goes on. That's what caused the removal of attention from all things political. At this point, I know nothing to even begin to have a conversation about any of it.

Sounds like a total drunken party, this Thunder Over Louisville. I went back and looked close at the photo of that dude and I see the tucked away whiskey bottle.

Yeah, history and political science is what I went to college for. Made me an anarchist. I can understand ignoring it but I can't bring myself to do that.

Oh yeah, total drunken party with something like 800,000 people attending. It's the kickoff for the festivities leading up to the Kentucky Derby, which is its own special sort of drunken debauchery.

Are you talking about the shot with all the Trump stuff in it? A majority of the population in the state that I live in would. Once you get outside the bigger cities and towns here they still worship the ground he walks on.

You can say that again. That was taken at the Kentucky State Fair either this year or last year (they were set up there both years).
