Behind The Times
Ever get the feeling you're a little bit behind the times? We had a whole passel of folks who resembled that description here on Monday. It was the 200th anniversary of Lafayette's visit to Louisville on his farewell tour and there were reenactors and the US Army's Fife and Drum Corps in town to mark the occasion.
Already posted some photos of the folks participating in the ceremony but the audience was just as interesting. Maybe more so.
A surprising number were in period garb themselves, think most of them belonged to the Sons/Daughters of the American Revolution. There were also quite a few of what I presume to be Masons, with peculiar aprons attached.
Does this phone make my outfit look outdated? There was just something about the '18th century smartphone' look that I couldn't pass up.
The Society for Creative Anachronism would like to have a word with you. Then again, semaphores take terrible photos.
Couldn't shake the feeling that all the dudes in costume in the audience were there representing the different character classes of a Pentecostal church.
Now where did I put the remote for my time machine?
