Afraid Not

Have you got the fear? One of our neighbors seems to have developed a bad case of the fear. Recently, for reasons that are clear as mud, she has taken to texting my partner regular updates on anything bad that happens in the neighborhood.

A regular Debbie Downer if you will. Hell, her name's even Debbie. Nothing seems to escape her feverish sense of alarm, so far we've been informed of everything from someone hitting a deer to wind advisories, strange women in the street to fires in the park. Throw in reports on every crime that occurs within a 20 mile radius and you start to get picture...

Y'all ever meet the type? Scared of their own shadow and hellbent on making you equally afraid? Nice try Debbie but I'm afraid not.

My first thought was to send her updates every time a cop here in the US kills somebody, since that's about the only thing she don't seemed concerned by. If we come anywhere near last year's record of 1,176 that should almost be enough to go update for update with her.

On second thought, we should probably just send her articles from the Onion. If that doesn't work there's always QAnon...
