A Second Shot At Pride

Was supposed to shoot Pride back in June but my neck had other ideas, ended up stuck at home trying not to move my head. Luckily for me, Louisville has two Prides, so last Saturday I moseyed over to the Highlands for the Louisville Pride Foundation's Pride Festival 2025.

They had a few blocks of Bardstown Road blocked off, with two stages for drag and music performances, and over a hundred vendors set up lining the streets. Things had kicked at 1100, by the time I showed up midafternoon the party was already in full swing.

Spent the next few hours wandering up and down the street taking it all in, snapping the occasional photo and just enjoying the fun.

Might could be said that it was a gay old time. Kept running into old friends and comrades, ended up spending as much time talking as I did shooting.

Was pleasantly surprised to find that no angry, megaphone wielding preachers had showed up to try and ruin the party. Guess they wore themselves out harassing people going to Worldfest the weekend before. Was even more pleasantly surprised to discover a punk group rocking out on one of the stages.

The party ran until 2300 but I wasn't able to stick around that long. From the photos I've seen since, I may have to next year.
