The Old Camera Is Found

A few days ago I was chatting with @galenkp here on Hive about how I had a camera, and wouldn't mind putting it to use again. Problem was I had no clue where it was. He pushed me to get off my butt and start looking for it, so I did. Low and behold I found it.

Regretfully I could not find the charger. After shopping online, I found one, and waiting a few days it arrived. Then it was a matter of charging the battery. Then I needed getting reacquainted with the camera some.

Below are some of the first photos taken with the camera in about 15 years. It is a Kodak 1012 IS Point and Shoot model.

The above is one of our many wind chimes. This particular one has a solar panel attached and at night the sun in the middle will light up.

Here is our only tomato plants we have this year. We decided to not plant more of a garden because our neighbors plant such large gardens they keep us stocked up.

This is one of the metal works from our little memorial flower garden. The wife just recently repainted it.

Here we have one of our hanging planters over the memorial flower garden with a solar light.

I tried to do a close up of one of the flowers in the hanging planter, but the auto focus just didn't want to stay focused on it. I have more learning to do.

This is our solar powered watering can in the memorial flower garden. At night it looks like it is watering flowers.

This is the sign that hangs over our back patio where we sit and have guests.

Nothing special here, just our fire pit after a night of hot dogs and smores with some friends.

So, that is it for the practice run with the camera. I plan to get out more tomorrow to take some outdoor shots if I am able. Hopefully I will figure out the auto focus issue, or figure out how to manually focus it.

Thanks for checking it out,
Joe

Isn't it amazing that stuff like that still works? I had a Logitech mouse that I bought at Best Buy that I was still using 10 years later, incredible.

It is weird for sure. It does show an error code sometimes when I turn it on and I have to turn it off and on to clear it sometimes. Other than that, it seems to work fine for something that has been stored, moved around, and probably banged around in the process.

10 years for a mouse is a damn long time. Your lucky these days to get a car to last that long.

Boom!

Well done mate, I'm glad you took it upon yourself to get that camera crackin' and to put this post together.

You'll work out that focus issue man, just play around with it and maybe check the manual. If you don't have it there'll be one online. Nice tribute to the fallen too mate. #respect

Thanks. Already found it and downloaded it. Going to look it up tonight. It is spitting out an error code occasionally too. I am wondering if that has something to do with it. We will see.

Yes, my little memorial garden that piece sits right at the center. Wife found that at a craft show and we just had to get it for the tribute.

Excellent, at least you'll be able to look up the settings and that'll help you get the best out of it. Error codes aren't great, could be some terminal issue I guess, but take some shots anyway, there's nothing to lose.

oh, it is that as well. Thanks, I am glad I got it going too. There is something that seems so much more fun about using a regular camera, versus your smartphone to take a picture I think.

On another note, it is throwing me an error now that seems to be a lens error. SO I think that is why I am having problems focusing. I will get it figured out thoguh I am sure. I printed out the manual. So have so light research later.
