Light Box

Recently I decided to up my game with my pics here on Hive. Specifically my coin and stacking pics. I was tired of the extra glare or reflections. Then there was the photos where silver looked gold or copper. Bottom line, I want to produce better content and photos.
Recently I have paid more attention to how many of my favorite bloggers put together their posts and what I like about them. Now I don't plan to copy them, but do plan to take a little away from each. Isn't that how we learn in life?
Anyway, the image above is the light box. It comes with a few different colored backings. It is doubtful I will use much of anything but black and white though. It seems it requires you to plug it into a USB port which is sort of cool and flexible.
Currently I am awaiting a few small little coin stands that should come in late tomorrow. These should allow me to display the subject nicely in the box. I couldn't find individual stands, so I had to purchase a small packet of five.
So, hopefully in a couple of days I will be posting the first of my posts using the light box as well as working on improving my writing and presentation for you.
Thanks for reading,
Joe

A lightbox is a great idea! I've thought about building my own for my coin shots, but so far I haven't gotten around to moving forward with that idea. Anyway, I hope yours works out for you! I'll look for the results in your next coin post!
It’ll be a work in progress I’m sure.
That's really cool. I hope you have a lot of luck with it. I had never heard of a lightbox before I started blogging here. I might get one someday, but most of my posts are about larger things that wouldn't fit!
I will need all the luck I can get because I suck at taking photos.
I'm sure you will do great!
The light box! POpularised by the famous G-Dawg! I am looking forward to seeing the results, The things are quite spanky!
Yep,he has some great shots using his and makes it look easy.
It will probably be a bit fiddly at first then smashing!
I imagine I will be fiddling then smashing something. LOL
Hehe, no doubt!
Greetings @coinjoe ,
It is always lovely to learn something new in this journey.
Happy to hear you have found something that will assist in your posting experience.
That is a plus plus already.
Kind Regards, Bleujay
Hello Bleujay!
Yes, it is nice to learn something new. I am hoping I can pick this up rather quickly.
Thank you
I haven't tried a light box to experiment with yet. I keep forgetting to keep an eye out for one.
Your photos are already amazing, so I can only imagine how spectacular they would be with one. I picked this little one up on Amazon for $22USD
Let me know how that works out! I've always had some neutral backing and indirect lights when I've done mine. Sometimes they dome out well other times they just plain suck. Coins that aren't shiny I tend to throw in the scanner!
I will be posting my first take at it in a day or two. I’ll tag you so you won’t miss it.
That's so true. That's how I learned to justify my posts so that each paragraph looked nice and neat, plus it helps with readability to avoid that ragged text.
Funny, I got a little lightbox too last year (which I haven't used as of yet. They can really help to make items pop off the webpage, and I could see it being great for coins.
I also ordered an (I don't know what it's called) little round platform that slowly spins, and can come in handy to show all sides of an item in videos. I haven't used either yet, but they're good to have when you need them. :)
