Me and my family went out to the beach a couple days ago. This is just a little glimpse of the trip.

Summer Memories ☀️

A spicy Indian Mango Snack:

Made of Raw mango with salt and chilli 🌶️ Imbibes the childhood memories of us being kids, running around the mango tree throwing stones to collect the raw fruit and then sprinkling salt over it and a little chilly powder and relishing it under the canopy of the mango tree. 🥭

Corn on the Cob 🌽

Roasted sweet corn on the Indian beach perfectly paired with the sight of the sandy shores. We bite the juicy corn, that’s topped with flavours and served on its own leaves. Such a sustainable way to utilise the corns left overs and it definitely supports the local way of making food simple yet delicious 🤤 which is packed with rich spices.

The Indian way of grill 🔥

This was quite an experience to watch the shop keeper twist and twirl the corn to roast it all over, bringing out the juices and make your mouth water after every bite. Hot bites are the best way to consume them 🥵

No Other Place I’d Be At . . . 🌊

Came to this wonderful paradise to escape from life and just sit quietly and reflect on the waves. It feels like a natures show which is so calm and serene because of the blue skies. Shells, shore, the disappearing footprints, the kids making sand castles 🏰 uff the beach has so much to offer. Mind suddenly gets at ease allowing us to put nature in focus.

As I slowly walked, the silhouette of the people gradually disappeared into the darkness. The sunset glistened over the horizon as the deepened footsteps were left behind which was then washed away by the frothy waves.

We found a starfish and couldn’t resist taking a picture. 💫 This beach is called Tannirbavi, where the Sand creates its own unique environment for the marine life. Walking on the beach beds while glaring at the orange skies, it was unexpected to discovering this unique gem while having quite the experience at the beach.

One with the Sea 🚣🏻‍♀️

Lately everything has been about work, this was a great way to escape from the hectic life and have a mini break from it all. Got my mind decluttered after a long time. Which put me on a perspective of working on only the most important task of the day. From then on I worked only on one aspect per day.

Kids climbing the inflatable playground 🛝

They love to run up the side runways to reach to the top, then jump and slide down. The fun and frolicking nature of the kids is such a cute sight to see. Parents await for them to safely reach down the pumped up slides. The air is filled with giggles and screams of the children who playfully play with their peers.

Wind wheels that turns as the wind blows. Oh so colourful

Bubbles floated about, i just couldn’t resist the urge to get one and blow the bubbles. So, I purchased a 50 bucks bubble maker and it was a boat blowing these rainbow bubbles.

Simba 🦁

Sky with kites 🪁

It was 5:30 pm and the skies were blue and soaring kites made of cartoon figures floated above the children’s heads, everyone’s everts were attached to the moving kites 🪁 we were in awe of the beautiful canvas created by the pink cotton clouded sky.

Parents and Children gathered to play with frisbees, they played football ball ⚽️ and even cricket 🏏 They bonded over and created new memories at the sandy beach 🏝️

A row of colourful local boats were found on the shore 🛶 every morning the men grabbed the boat row and went to the sea in search of fresh fish to catch and sell.

Marine butterfly 🦋

We call these Pachile in our native language, a delicacy at Mangalore. Mom used to buy buckets of these for her brother who absolutely loved them. Since he lives abroad it’s so cool to see them spend time reliving memories of their childhood and eating the same foods and catch up on their memories and life’s lessons.

Nets, paddles, flags

I got a look into the boat before I decided to sit on it. They had kept long white nets which smelt like fish and the boat had sand all over it. The sitting area was still wet and icky but I managed to find a partially dry one.

People gathered around a boat where they were selling that days catch. 🐟

They even found a spot to keep their water bottles on the tip of the boat. A special cavity to store their essentials. The wooden boat edges were even covered with rubber pipes.

The man in the lungi was detangling the net, to keep it ready for the next rounds catch. He gathered his boat mates to be a part of this, and keep things in place for the upcoming trip.

It’s been raining a lot in Kudla, seeing a massive cloud right there in the middle and smaller grey clouds indicated rain was expected in the night. As I said, it did thunder and rain at night. We were forced to remove all the electric connects to keep our devices safe.

The Shenanigans 🤣

Of course we had to capture the mischief we were upto. 😛 Rewatching the photographs of that day makes me feel so much better after the months of work stress that got to me.

We wore our flip flops and hopped into the water to get our feet wet. My cousin wanted to accompany and splash water over us. While the aunties and uncles sat on the bench and watched thus having our little fun in the sun. ☀️

Considering it was a weekend, I did expect it to be be a rush. The car park was so filled that finding a spot to park was getting harder by the minute.
