The Colors I Wanted

Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to share some pictures of the autumn foliage colors that I wanted to see!

The Colors I Wanted

This autumn has been an interesting one for sure. We got out and did some great exploration which was quite enjoyable, going to some spots that we normally go to and others we don't but one of the things that I was a little dismayed about this year was there was a lot of the same colors around! Lol.

The foliage is something I appreciate regardless of the color that is displayed, because it is a unique feature of where I live and not a lot of places in the world, relatively speaking, have such vibrant beauty as this place. For that I am incredibly grateful!

Howeverrrrrr there is always room for wanting a little bit more! I guess this is the human condition. We have almost everything that we would like but there is that little nagging in us that wants just a little bit more. It's not hard to ask for, is it?! :D

The colors in our area have largely been mostly yellow which was interesting but also a little disappointing in some ways. I love to see the wide range of reds, oranges, yellows and mixed in there is the green of the trees that haven't turned yet. I'm curious as to why this year, the majority of the colors I was seeing were yellows. I don't know if that has to do with the weather, time in which it was turning or what but it was quite an interesting look, seeing expansive mountains and hills but they are all filled with yellow autumnal colors instead of the wide palate that we normally would see.

Thankfully what it did take was to go exploring in a little bit of a different area to allow me to get some of those other color ranges! Granted I didn't have this crazy view of miles upon miles but that's okay, I will take what I can get when it comes to this stuff! The trees alongside the river were the ones that were really going all out with their displays, some of them were a little zig-zaggy like the big one above but there were also plenty of others that were just normal trees, and smaller trees, that were offering up their beauty in the form of various shades of orange and red. This is what I was looking for for sure!

This particular expedition that I was on was unfortunately without my son to enjoy them but we did come back later, albeit sans the camera so that I didn't get to take a few shots with him but that's okay. In some cases, it's more important to be present than it is to always try to capture the moments. The time we have here is fleeting, and seeing the various colors and changing of the seasons where I live absolutely helps remind me of this fact!
