Blind Monochrome Monday

Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to have fun with a mixed bag of photos for this week's Monochrome Monday!

Blind Monochrome Monday

I think it's fun to switch things up!

Every so often, I like to break out from the pack and do something a lot different. This time was no different, pun intended :D. I wanted to mix it up a bit and pick a few random black and white pictures! We are in between seasons right now, with the trees really starting to bud and the earliest flowers blossoming. This means that there are more things to look at, but not necessarily a lot of things to be taking pictures of so I haven't got anything fresh.

There are hundreds of pictures in my archives, which I am quite fond of, so I have a bit of enjoyment to just go in there and randomly grab 3 pictures out of the batch. I didn't close my eyes and choose them but I clicked on one, then scrolled and moved the mouse, clicked another and then did the same on the last. These pictures are from all over the place, but that's cool!

The funny thing is they seem to be related to cold or winter weather.. haha. The beach above was one of the places we visit quite a bit during the summer, but at this particular instance we had visited a museum nearby and it was winter time. This meant that everything was dead, but there was a nice blanket of fog that rolled in so it made for some eerie but fascinating pictures! I love living a manageable distance from the ocean, because it really brings some interesting photos and scenes to those who are able to look at it from a different perspective!

I don't think that my perspective is perfect, but it is certainly different from the average person which makes it fun. I like to break away from the pack of people so to speak, and instead of taking some wild Instagram picture on a cliffside in Italy, as much as that sounds cool and I would like to, I like to bring the beautiful nature of the areas that are fairly local to me and show others, even if the audience is on the smaller side.

With the recent passing of winter here, the cold weather and snowfall are still fresh on the mind that's for sure. We had a pretty intensely cold winter this year which is good in many ways. It destroys and kills a lot of the nasty things like insects that we would rather not have around, but it also is yet to be determined what this will look like for the upcoming spring and summer.

Will we have an intensely hot summer because the winter was so cold? Or will we have a mild summer that leaves room to be desired in terms of temperature? It's hard to say but one thing is for sure, is that it's nice to be on the other side of it!

I also am regretful that I didn't get to take any photos of the Christmas tree this year. Unfortunately as much as I should have been, the spirit just wasn't in me the way it should have this year. It's regrettable on a few levels but nothing we can do now except move forward and improve the things that we made mistakes on previously! I still think that these Christmas-themed backdrop photos are some of my favorite holiday-related pictures I've taken!

Black and white goes very well with this kind of shots, Photographing nature can be as attractive as peaceful and you can find very good scenarios. Thanks for sharing with us @cmplxty

I agree, I love taking photos of nature but flipping it into black and white is really an enjoyable experience!

I know I say it every time, but I really need to do some more grayscale edits with some of my photos.

I have not! I'm guessing it's free, what about open source?

It is free, I am not sure about open source. I don't think it is currently being developed still but I use it daily.

Black and white photos are always special and well the weather has changed so much so have the seasons. Hopefully the summer will not be so hot
