RE: Silk-fabric recycling.

Ahh, beautiful dearest @kesityu.fashion ! - and silk ropes are a wonderful aspect of reusing materials, repurposing... I love a silk rope belt, and also have just been looking at using silk in a multiple-layered way, to make flat belts, rather than a rope one... Yes: silk is soooo delicate, and yet, it can be used again so long as it is reinforced or bolstered by more of the same behind it, or by using it as a surface decoration layer, rather than it needing to hold the full force of a garment or piece. I hope you persevere with your crochet and roping techniques: they look like they have a lot of potential! I also was going to make some bias-binding for a skirt project, out of a beautiful similar-colour-to-yours silk blouse. It would work as a gorgeous edging on many garments, I think, silk...

Thank you💕
Interesting!! I was also thinking about which ways you could lay out those ropes in a flat way, or sewing them together...
And yes!!! adding some silk somewhere I guess it would work with most garments, very fail proof upgrading🙃

Yey, @kesityu.fashion ! I love the idea of layering and layering, until you have the right strength of fabric, for whatever the job... Anything is possible, so long as we keep looking for a solution!

I made a belt for my white cotton dress made from a nightie and a sheet: a black, quite solid belt, that had about 4 layers of very-worn-out silk - from a favourite apron that I finally accepted was unusable. Once I'd sewn it all together, it became very strong.

That's a nice one!!
I must say I am really often shying off to use fabric, that is too worn off (or when I feel the silk might rip soon) because I don't want to go through all the work to then wear it once and it falls apart... Even though that could be one concept in it's own:)
