Como su nombre indica, Ocumare es un pueblo de la costa del Caribe, que pertenece al Estado Aragua y es muy conocido por los diferentes destinos playeros que puedes encontrar dentro de este mismo, y que sin duda, la diferencia entre cada uno corresponde al principal motivo de la llegada de turistas.

En mi caso, he estado en playas de Ocumare como turista, y a lo mejor pensarás que no hay más razones para visitarlo siendo propiamente un lugar turístico, aunque quizá pase por tu cabeza algún motivo laboral, lo cual creo que es bastante posible. Pero lo cierto es que este lugar costeño alberga un hospital de rehabilitación que brinda diferentes atenciones en relación a fisioterapia y terapia ocupacional, y con la particularidad de emplear el agua salada y dulce como medio físico para diferentes terapias. Así como también otras atenciones.

Para los 2 últimos meses del año 2019, me encontraba con 2 amigas en Ocumare para realizar mis pasantías en el área fisioterapéutica. Lo que quiere decir que por un mes y medio estuve viviendo allí.
Ya que la vía desde Maracay a Ocumare es, dicho de algún modo, un ascenso y descenso de montaña, con un clima húmedo y vegetación verdosa, no es recomendable para viajar diariamente por lo agotador que puede ser.

For the last 2 months of 2019, I was with 2 friends in Ocumare for my internship in the physiotherapy area. Which means that for a month and a half I was living there.
Since the road from Maracay to Ocumare is, in a manner of speaking, a mountainous ascent and descent, with a humid climate and greenish vegetation, it is not recommended for daily travel because of how exhausting it can be.

Al llegar, una de las cosas que me sorprendió fueron unas barras paralelas con chorros de agua para reeducación de la marcha. Es muy común ver en una sala de rehabilitación unas barras de estilo convencional, pero estas son diferentes debido a que hacían parte de ellas chorros de agua que van desde el lado derecho al izquierdo y viceversa, a presión, con una salida de agua variable en altura entre cada una. Detalles que no solo resultan interesantes a la vista, sino también que proporcionan beneficios específicos para los respectivos pacientes.

Quiero destacar que a pesar de todo al igual que muchos centros de salud, este no es la excepción para no verse de alguna manera afectado debido a la actual problemática del país. También quiero dejar claro que hay muchos otros aspectos interesantes como los que he explicado.

Pero así como aportar al intelecto es importante, distraerse para el Alma también lo es, por eso durante ese tiempo disfrutar de la playa fue una decisión tomada.

Ya en fechas de diciembre, nos aventuramos a visitar la Ciénaga, ya que habíamos oído hablar mucho de ella. Llegar requiere un viaje en peñero (cosa que a mí me encanta). Así comenzamos partiendo desde la playa de Ocumare, mis amigas y otros amigos que nos acompañaban. Durante el viaje por el inmenso y profundo azul nos brindaron un paseo por los manglares.

Aquí pudimos practicar Kayak y disfrutar de nuestro propio recorrido por los alrededores.

Finalmente, fue un buen paseo para luego regresar a nuestras labores en el hospital.
