En Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, una de las experiencias más intensas fue mi misión de caza contra el Ludroth Real en el Pantano Inundado. Aunque a simple vista este monstruo puede parecer menos amenazante que wyverns como Rathalos o Zinogre, enfrentarlo en su propio territorio exige atención, paciencia y un buen control del equipo. El terreno húmedo, los charcos profundos y los estrechos pasajes del pantano convierten cada combate en una lucha tanto contra el monstruo como contra el escenario.
Para esta misión decidí usar la armadura de Rathian Dorada, una elección que no solo destacaba por su elegante diseño dorado, sino también por la seguridad que transmitía al entrar al campo de batalla. Llevar piezas fabricadas con materiales de una criatura tan poderosa como la Rathian Dorada hace que un cazador sienta que ya ha superado grandes pruebas. Sus escamas brillantes contrastaban con el ambiente oscuro y verdoso del pantano, como si llevara una parte del desierto y del fuego a un lugar dominado por el agua y la vegetación.

In Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, one of the most intense experiences was my hunt against the Royal Ludroth in the Flooded Swamp. Although at first glance this monster might seem less threatening than wyverns like Rathalos or Zinogre, facing it in its own territory demands focus, patience, and good equipment control. The damp terrain, deep pools, and narrow passages of the swamp make each encounter a struggle against both the monster and the environment.
For this mission, I decided to use the Gold Rathian armor, a choice that stood out not only for its elegant golden design but also for the confidence it instilled upon entering the battlefield. Wearing pieces crafted from the materials of a creature as powerful as the Gold Rathian makes a hunter feel they have already overcome great trials. Its shimmering scales contrasted with the dark, greenish environment of the swamp, as if it brought a piece of the desert and fire to a place dominated by water and vegetation.
Mi arma fue la lanza pistola Ishtar Dorada, elaborada con materiales de Rathian. Esta arma combinaba perfectamente con la armadura: ambas tenían una apariencia dorada imponente y representaban el resultado de muchas cacerías previas. La lanza pistola es un arma especial porque permite mantener una defensa firme con su escudo, atacar con estocadas precisas y, al mismo tiempo, disparar proyectiles explosivos a corta distancia. Contra el Ludroth Real, esa combinación fue muy útil, especialmente cuando el monstruo intentaba acercarse con embestidas o ataques de mordida.
El Ludroth Real aprovechaba constantemente el agua del pantano para mantenerse húmedo. Su melena esponjosa absorbe grandes cantidades de agua, lo que le permite lanzar chorros y desplazarse con más comodidad por las zonas inundadas. Durante la misión tuve que observar sus movimientos para no quedar atrapado frente a él cuando preparaba sus ataques acuáticos. En varios momentos levantaba el escudo de la Ishtar Dorada para bloquear sus embestidas, esperando el instante exacto para contraatacar con una estocada o una ráfaga explosiva.
My weapon was the Golden Ishtar Gunlance, crafted from Rathian materials. This weapon perfectly complemented my armor: both had an imposing golden appearance and represented the culmination of many previous hunts. The Gunlance is a special weapon because it allows you to maintain a firm defense with its shield, attack with precise thrusts, and simultaneously fire explosive projectiles at close range. Against the Royal Ludroth, this combination proved very useful, especially when the monster attempted to close the distance with charges or bite attacks.
The Royal Ludroth constantly used the swamp's water to stay moist. Its fluffy mane absorbed large quantities of water, allowing it to spray jets and move more easily through the flooded areas. During the quest, I had to observe its movements to avoid being caught in front of it when it prepared its water attacks. Several times, I raised the Golden Ishtar's shield to block its charges, waiting for the precise moment to counterattack with a thrust or an explosive burst.
La batalla se volvió más intensa cuando el Ludroth Real comenzó a mostrar señales de cansancio. Sus movimientos eran menos rápidos, pero también más desesperados. Aproveché ese momento para presionarlo, usando los disparos de la lanza pistola en zonas vulnerables y manteniendo una distancia segura. No fue una cacería fácil, pero la resistencia de la armadura de Rathian Dorada y la versatilidad de la Ishtar Dorada marcaron una gran diferencia.
Al final, derrotar al Ludroth Real en el Pantano Inundado fue una victoria satisfactoria. Más allá de completar la misión, fue una muestra de progreso como cazador: entrar al territorio de un monstruo preparado, conocer el funcionamiento del arma y confiar en un equipo construido con materiales obtenidos en cacerías anteriores. Cada misión en Monster Hunter Portable 3rd deja una historia, y esta cacería quedó marcada por el brillo dorado de la Rathian, el estruendo de la lanza pistola y la caída del rey de los Ludroth en las aguas del pantano.
The battle intensified as the Royal Ludroth began to show signs of fatigue. Its movements were slower, but also more desperate. I seized this opportunity to pressure it, using the gunlance's blasts on vulnerable areas while maintaining a safe distance. It wasn't an easy hunt, but the resilience of the Gold Rathian armor and the versatility of the Gold Ishtar made all the difference.
In the end, defeating the Royal Ludroth in the Flooded Swamp was a satisfying victory. Beyond simply completing the quest, it was a testament to my progress as a hunter: entering a monster's territory prepared, understanding how the weapon worked, and trusting equipment built from materials obtained on previous hunts. Every quest in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd leaves a story, and this hunt was marked by the golden glow of the Rathian, the roar of the gunlance, and the Ludroth king's fall into the swamp's waters.
