Up Close with the Windmills in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines!
The number one reason why I was most excited to go to Ilocos was because of the windmills. For me, it is the best representation of this province. And yes, you should not miss going to this place if you visit Ilocos. Absolutely one of the highlights!
From my last Ilocos blog I mentioned already about the windmills because I saw them going to Kapurpurawan from the van. The excitement grew bigger when our guide told us that the Bangui Wind Farm would be our next destination.
So, when we were in the van I made sure that my camera had a fully charged battery, I told myself that I should have a lot of pictures in this, lots of memorabilia.
The travel from Kapurpurawan to Bangui Windmills took less than 20 minutes only. I hurriedly got off the van when it stopped to park somewhere near the road. There were tourists in the place so we need no guide how to go to the place.
Watching the windmills from afar, they looked like toys that are lined up and arranged properly like bowling pins, but they are actually very huge up close. So, I took my camera and made this ant-eyeview shot.
Our tour guide educated us that windmills will stop working if it is fully charged. So, the blade of the closest windmill to us was not moving. Maybe, that was a good thing because it made the experience less scary. But, since it was opened to the public, I am pretty sure that it is safe to go there.
The view of the windmills lining up plus the blue skies, the pearly-colored clouds, the foamy beach, and the silhouette of the mountains made the view obviously spectacular and breathtaking. And of course, we should not forget that these windmills generates electricity that is distributed to the people of Ilocos. So, it was totally a non-stop uttering of "wow" and "omg" moments when we were there.
My Solo Pics
I could never deny that the main reason why I came here was to have a photo of this place with my face/body in the foreground. The goal was to have a profile-picture worthy photo so I instructed my wife or our friends to have multiple shots in different modes and camera settings. So, yes! This place would never fail or dissappoint you to have that instagrammable photos.
I think I already have enough supply of photos that can be used as profile photo. All taken in one single place - Bangui.
Grace's Solo Pictures
Grace doesn't like to be photographed that much. I remembered her complaints after our wedding. She was enjoyed the whole moments of our wedding except for the photoshoots. She thought that there were a lot of duplicates because of the multiple shots from our photographers team.
But, she was obediently following my requests on how she should pose so that I could get a good shot. She was not complaining so much about the intense heat during this time. Maybe she really enjoyed the view.
Couple Photos
Grace and I would often times ask our friends to take pictures of them, and in return, we return the favor. And that happend here in Bangui. This is not going to be a question of whose couple did it best, because we both slayed it due to the picture-perfect view on the background.
France and Ann
The photos of them two were all great because I took all of that! 😁 We were really glad that this travel pushed with our friends through despite the up-coming elections during that time. Our supposed to be first travel with Ann and France was cancelled because of pandemic. It should have been in Camiguin. But things happen. We hope to travel with them soon again.
Group Pictures
Of course, we should not also miss to have a group picture. We need it because this is our first travel together. Gladly, we were in Ilocos.
Then it was time for us to have our lunch. We enjoyed our little stay and stop-over in the wind farm. I really hope that we can do this again in the future.
Thank you so much for reading until this part of the blog. I really appreciate it. See you next time!
