Reflections on life: WE ARE INFINITESIMAL [Eng / Spa]

In the course of my premillennial life, of a few years already, I have had many moments of reflection, some very good, others not so good, but in one way or another, have given their results, good or bad, but results at last, and I have taken the particular taste in my moments of personal reflection, to raise my eyes and look at the infinite sky, in all facets in which my geographical location can give me (north of South America), that although it seems crazy, in one way or another calms my anxiety about my problems. Seeing that diversity of shades of colors, from the sum of all colors (white of the clouds) to the absence of them (black of the night), calms anyone.

En el transcurso de mi vida premillenials, de unos cuantos años ya, he tenido muchos momentos de reflexión, unos muy buenos, otros no tan buenos, pero de una y otra forma, han dado sus resultados, buenos o malos, pero resultados al fin, y he tomado el gusto particular en mis momentos de reflexión personal, de levantar la vista y mirar al infinito del cielo, en todas las facetas en las cuales mi ubicación geográfica pueda darme (al norte de América del sur), que aunque parezca locura, de una u otra forma calma mi ansiedad ante mis problemas. Ver esa diversidad de matices de colores, desde la suma de todos los colores (blanco de las nubes) hasta ausencia de los mismos (negro de la noche), tranquilizan a cualquiera.

I imagine that for many it is crazy, because it makes no sense to look at the sky when we have thousands of things to see at our real distance, but seeing the sky, makes me notice that we are extremely insignificant before the known infinity of the universe, even when all the elements are related, our passage through the history of the universe, or the world itself, is insignificant, as well as our problems or lives, which are only an infinitesimal fraction of time, practically nothing.

Imagino que para muchos es una locura, porque no tiene sentido mirar el cielo cuando tenemos miles de cosas por ver a nuestra distancia real, pero ver el cielo, me hace notar que somos extremadamente insignificantes ante el infinito conocido del universo, aun cuando todos los elementos estén relacionados, nuestro paso por la historia del universo, o por el mundo en sí, es insignificante, así como nuestros problemas o vidas, que solo son una fracción infinitesimal del tiempo, prácticamente nada.

Just imagine the number of people throughout the history of mankind, who were born, grew up and died, who have left their legacy to the history of mankind; they are really very few, but many have lived and have passed through history without pain or glory, without leaving their mark on the history of the world.

Solo imagínense la cantidad de personas durante toda la historia de la humanidad, que han nacido, crecido y fallecido, que han dejado su legado a la historia del hombre; realmente son muy pocas, pero muchos han vivido y han pasado por la historia sin pena ni gloria, sin dejar huella en la historia del mundo.

That look at the sky makes me feel small, insignificant, and at the same time it makes me think about the great unknown of humanity, "Why are we here", "What is our mission? I cannot conceive the fact that our life has no meaning; then... What is man as a living being, as an entity...? I know it is difficult and complex to decipher, part of human history was taken by several philosophical thinkers, looking for "the being of the why of things", but we must be very aware that in the history of humanity, something is missing, so I can only say that we are still in the process of development, evolution, growth, so many more years will pass, at least to know the great truth of our existence.

Esa mirada al cielo, me hace sentir pequeño, insignificantes, y a la vez me hace pensar sobre la gran incógnita de la humanidad, “¿Por qué estamos aquí?”, “¿Cuál es nuestro misión?”. No concibo el hecho que nuestra vida no tenga sentido; entonces… ¿Qué es el hombre como ser vivo?, ¿Cómo ente?... Sé que es difícil y complejo de descifrar, parte de la historia humana se la llevaron varios pensadores de la filosofía, buscando “el ser del por qué de las cosas”, pero hay que estar muy consciente que en la historia de la humanidad, algo falta, por lo que solo puedo decir, que aún estamos en proceso de desarrollo, de evolución, de crecimiento, por lo que pasaran muchos años más, para por lo menos conocer la gran verdad de nuestra existencia.

The sky, in its stillness, immensity, gives that sense of peace, still, quiet, calm, peaceful, eternal, under all scenarios, it is unique, and every time you look at it, it shows a new facet. Clear without clouds, with clouds, under the soft light of dawn or dusk, or under the night stillness, where only the stars and the moon show their light, that calm and peaceful palette of colors that gives us the sky every day, it is there, it is there for everyone, only a few take the time to admire it. Ask yourselves, how many times have you looked at the sky, it is there and you have not seen it, maybe it is more important to look at the television, a cell phone, the neighbor's house, or the neighbor's house. All this is so unreal that people do not give importance to life as a human experience, only to our own pleasures or personal needs, without paying attention to how small and insignificant we are.

El cielo, en su quietud, inmensidad, da esa sensación de paz, inmóvil, tranquilo, apacible, eterno, bajo todos los escenarios, es único, y cada vez que se mira, muestra una faceta nueva. Despejada sin nubes, con nubes, bajo la suave luz del amanecer o atardecer, o bajo la quietud nocturna, donde solo las estrellas y la luna muestran su luz, esa paleta de colores tranquila y apacible que nos da el cielo cada día, está allí, está allí para todos, solo unos pocos se toman el tiempo para admirarla. Pregúntense, ¿Cuántas veces miraron el cielo?, está allí y no lo han visto, tal vez es mas importante ver la televisión, un celular, la casa del vecino o vecina, o la vecino o vecino. Es tan irreal todo esto, que la gente en si, no le da importancia a la vida como experiencia humana, solo a nuestros propios placeres o necesidades personales, sin prestar atención lo pequeño e insignificantes que somos.

In ancient times, the sky was more studied, many men and women dedicated many hours of their lives looking at it, for the case of night views seeing those figures that conformed to the known, without thinking that they were seeing the past of the movement of the stars, and for the diurnal case, the movement of our nearest star, our moon, as well as the clouds. All ancient civilizations devoted great importance to study the sky, looking for the answers of the world in it, all this to know their place in the world and on the planet, to know the seasons, the tides, climate, nature itself, the future, with which after years of study, humanity could control how to live on earth.

En la antigüedad, el cielo era más estudiado, muchos hombres y mujeres le dedicaron muchas horas de su vida mirándolo, para el caso de las vistas nocturnas viendo esas figuras que se ajustaban a lo conocido, sin pensar que estaban viendo el pasado del movimiento de los astros, y para el caso diurno, el movimiento de nuestra estrella más cercana, nuestra luna, así como de las nubes. Todas las civilizaciones antiguas le dedicaron gran importancia a estudiar el cielo, buscando las respuestas del mundo en él, todo ello para conocer su lugar en el mundo y en el planeta, conocer las estaciones, las mareas, clima, la naturaleza en sí, el futuro, con la cual luego de años de estudio, la humanidad pudo controlar como vivir en la tierra.

It is amazing how by looking at the sky, we could know how far we were from the north or south pole (latitude), how far to the right or left (longitude) we were from the known earth, the length of the weather season, our location on the earth and in the solar system, and the location of the stars according to our planet, etc. There were no limits to the knowledge of time and the universe for those sky gazers.

Es increíble como mirando el cielo, podíamos saber que tan lejos estábamos del polo norte o sur (latitud), que tan a la derecha o izquierda (longitud) estábamos de la tierra conocida, el tiempo de duración de la estación climática, nuestra ubicación en la tierra y en el sistema solar, y la ubicación de las estrellas según nuestro planeta, etc. No había límites para el conocimiento del tiempo y el universo para aquellos mirones del cielo.

It is so exuberant the study of the sky, that perhaps the answer to our existence is there, in the sky, either at the level of the universe, as at the spiritual level, with God in Heaven, I firmly believe that a look at the sky, is a quiet way to seek spiritual peace and fill our soul, and the most fascinating and enriching thing is that it is available to everyone, where we only have to look up and look. Maybe we will be lucky and find the answer to our life.

Es tan exuberante el estudio del cielo, que tal vez la respuesta de nuestra existencia esté allí, en el cielo, sea a nivel del universo, como a nivel espiritual, con Dios en el Cielo, creo firmemente que una mirada al cielo, es una forma tranquila de buscar la paz espiritual y llenar nuestra alma, y lo más fascinante y enriquecedor es que está al alcance de todos, donde solo tenemos que levantar la vista y mirar. Tal vez corramos con suerte y encontremos la respuesta a nuestra vida.
