Walking Adventures

Greetings, welcome to my blog.

During the week, I had a few days off from work—not by choice, just one of the downsides of being self-employed with a zero-hour contract, I suppose. With that in mind, I decided to get out of the house and explore. I went a step further by taking a bus, something I rarely do since I usually walk everywhere or take the train for longer trips. However, as my destination was far and I didn’t yet own a bicycle, the bus was my only option. I travelled 30 minutes outside my city for two reasons: first, I wanted to go geocaching, which I haven’t done in a while, and second, I was eager to explore nearby places I’d never visited before or hadn't been to in a while.

I conquered two hobbies in one trip, Geocaching and photography, and it is the photography side that I'm sharing in this post today.

After getting off the bus, I walked to my first Geocache find, and it was in a small churchyard. I liked this arch gate.

The only issue I encountered was the lack of pavements along the roadside. It didn’t bother me much, but I suppose for some, the idea of walking on country roads with fast-moving cars might feel daunting. After a while, I found a public trail on some farmland and chose to walk along it for a bit. This experience made me wish I had a bicycle—I’d be able to explore more and go further without relying on public transport. Sadly bike theft is very common in my city, so I am hesitant to spend big.

Overall, it was an enjoyable trip, and it was good to see a new, unfamiliar area, even if it's only a 30-minute drive away.

On that note I will close today's post, thanks for reading my blog today. Take care

Your photos and descriptions really conveyed the feeling of walking. The idea of combining walking was interesting.
