What can I tell you? Summer afternoons are better with coffee...
This post's title is not at all challenging or to be akin to clickbait, no. It is in fact the culmination of a day's walk around my city on my day off work. In fact, it is the culmination of a day of walking around my city on my day off work. I've taken advantage of the balmy temperatures of the last two days. The temperature has been hovering around 27 degrees. In Venezuela, from June to August, the rainy season begins, which is linked to the summer as such. Although in my country the seasons are not so markedly perceived, the beginning of the hottest and longest days are signs of rain, blankets of mist on the mountainsides and a certain coolness ideal for clearing the mind...
So as you can see in the cover photo, coffee is a faithful and kind companion... It travels with me wherever I go. And this morning-afternoon was to be no exception. I woke up, made breakfast, took advantage of the fact that it is a holiday and not a working day in my country, turned on the laptop and left my daughter watching her favourite programmes on YouTube. I made sure that I locked the door and made sure that everything was under control... I calculated that my walk through the streets of my city would take me no more than 3 hours in total. I took my mobile phone, said goodbye to my baby, and took my backpack with me. In it, everything I needed.
From the moment I woke up that morning, I knew I was going to write a post about the experience of having a day to forget all the stress and boredom of everyday life, and the connection that coffee has in my life, and how photogenic the images were, hehe. Many people choose to stay at home when they don't have to go to work. I understand them and I understand them. I myself have been (sometimes) one of them, but today my body was asking for something else. Walking, walking, walking. I didn't want to exercise or do cardio. I just wanted the road to "decide" my goal; and I think that's how it was.
It is funny, because some of the routes I often walk on public transport. It's funny, because some of the landscapes I walked today are totally familiar to me each and every day, except on Sundays, but it's totally the experience when you decide to walk them.... It is also really striking, that it is only after becoming a mother and being somewhat "old" (late 20's) that I learned the value of power that only running and hiking can offer to the mind.
Essentially, I have been noticing for some time now that boredom and routine have been dulling my soul. I would get home, and although I did everything as I "should", I would still spend the days of the calendar in sheer exhaustion... A constant burden, as if I were walking through an imaginary cell from right to left. So this break from the monotony and the pampering of adventure, which, although urban and urban, has given me warmth and peace. Two things, which I not only love but under these circumstances are more than important to me.... Never believe anyone who tells you that it is all "Work and work"....
All the people who live the burden of adulthood, with debt, bitterness and responsibility that fill the "colour" of life with shades of grey, will eventually need a disconnection. Those who have the sea as part of their landscape will surely use it as inspiration; I used my beloved coffee and broke the boredom with this walk through beautiful areas of my city. Besides, the temperature was friendly and the fact that I was alone made me feel more connected to myself. There is a difference between appreciating what surrounds us in company and being on our own... Today, my city as a witness, my steps as a tool, and a thermos of coffee as fuel.

Sometimes you just gotta listen to your body and do what it wants. The temperature is actually really nice now (the horrible heat is getting better), so taking advantage of that and go for a walk sounds like the perfect plan
So, we are from the same place... Nice. Thank you for your support and kindness. I appreciate it.
