A poetic sunset, and me in a bar, enjoying life with a cup of coffee

What is the key to beauty? What a question.... A question that has intrigued thinkers, philosophers and, above all, lovers of all times and ages. Sometimes, this appreciation of beauty is related to symmetry. We admire and appreciate the value of aesthetics if it is closely related to symmetry. On the other hand, we are also often moved by the unexpected. Perhaps that is why we are so fond of surprises and of what we do not see coming. And no, it's not all negative, quite the opposite. In my particular case, it's about enjoying life with the simplicity of a cup of coffee at the end of an overwhelming, poetic, satisfying and powerful afternoon.

This post aims to do two things. To properly relate the joy of finding beauty in the relatively simple but also in this bewitching beverage that is coffee.... And it's not that I've always been an inveterate fan of this hot beverage - quite the contrary! In fact, for decades of my life, I even abhorred it? How wrong I have been about this.... But this spring has been noticeably warmer than any I can remember. You have no idea how little the photograph on the cover does justice to the suffocating sensation of humidity, dry heat and burning that the sun at 4:00 pm produces....

Many people would seek refuge in these temperatures in other actions... I prefer to go to a local bar, my favourite, sit in their comfortable customer lounge overlooking the city, and forget about everything and everyone. Literally, that's what I did. I did myself a favour. Honestly, I needed it badly. You have no idea what it's like to have to put up with the things a woman my age (31) has to do Monday through Saturday. .... Being a full time mother, being in an office most of my days and time; and to top it all off, adjusting to power cuts, day to day problems.

Sometimes a coffee is more than just a drink. It is the connection between what a somewhat distressed soul needs, and giving you a simple but transcendental pleasure. So much so, that it has inspired this post. Besides, I am normally a coffee drinker, but the black kind. On this occasion I ordered two choices. I felt that one type was not enough for me. In addition to this, I have reconciled myself with the mocaccino. A type of coffee that has not always been to my liking. But from my perspective, the vanilla latte is the best of all. It's a beautifully symmetrical balance between the right amount of cream, espresso and that masterful touch of vanilla essence.

People everywhere, and more so in this community that makes a poem out of coffee and its various presentations, should stop their routines to just have an intimate rendezvous with this beautiful beverage. My parents, mainly my father, has always told me that his sacred time during the day is the mornings. And whenever he says that, he is accompanied by his personal thermos of coffee. It's more than just drinking for the sake of drinking, it's a connection between the unique and particular way you drink your coffee and you. If that's not personal and profound, I don't know how many things will be. Enjoying life, with a couple of cups of coffee, in the inclemency of an afternoon, and in spite of the odds... Living is coffee.

All the photographs in this post, have been taken by me, and are my own property.

Friend I enjoy your writing, but I also love your talent with the camera. I hope the nightmare of power outages in your area will end TSTB, and that office hours are more pleasant for you. Work should be fun.

In Venezuela, we usually need a daily respite with our coffee, the country situation, the heat, the daily life is chaos, that's why, the best option is to have a meeting alone with our coffee, it's the only way we know to drain all those energies that are not good for us at all. I hope you feel better after this respite, greetings 🤗😘☕🥰🥰🥰🤗😘☕🥰🥰🥰🥰

Although the photo is black and white, it gave me the same feeling as the one in color. The idea of thinking about the smell of coffee and being there enjoying a pleasant afternoon is the best thing in the world.
