Good afternoon, friends. I hope you are having a great time, as we are. Today is a day to celebrate with family. Here in Chile, we celebrate our national holidays, and every house is decorated for the occasion with flags. On the 18th and 19th, we have barbecues and choripan, and we make empanadas de pino.
This holiday is colloquially known as the Dieciocho because on 18 September 1810, the first National Government Junta was formed, initiating Chile's independence from the Spanish Crown.
This national holiday has been celebrated in September since 1811 and on 19 September since 1915. The original meaning is the anniversary of the first National Government Junta, and since 1915 it has been a commemoration of National Independence and a celebration of all the Glories of the Army.
Here at my daughter's house, we are celebrating as a family, listening to Chilean music and occasionally moving our feet to the beat of the Cueca.
Last night we went to a peña thanks to an invitation from my son's mother-in-law, who belongs to a cueca club. I will tell you more about this invitation in another post. It is truly beautiful to see how Chileans celebrate their national holidays, the meaning this date has for them, and the emotion with which they do so. It is worth noting that people receive a bonus at work, which helps them with their shopping.
It is mandatory to display the flag, otherwise you will be fined between 70,000 and 350,000 pesos. From what I have seen, everyone or the vast majority display it voluntarily, and most of the flags are large. They decorate with streamers and rent games. Here at home, they rented a hockey table.

Feliz tarde amigos, espero la estén pasando super bien, como la estamos pasando nosotros, hoy es un día para celebrar en familia,aquí en Chile se celebran las fiestas patrias y en todas las casas se adorna alusivo a esta fiesta y se pone la bandera, se hace asado y choripan el 18 y el 19 se hacen las empanadas de pino.
Esta fiesta se conoce coloquialmente como el Dieciocho por que el 18 de septiembre de 1810 se conformo la primera junta Nacional de Gobierno dando inicio al proceso de independencia de Chile de la Corona Española.
Está fecha patria se celebra en septiembre desde el año 1811 y el 19 de septiembre desde 1915 ,el significado inicial es el aniversario de la primera Junta Nacional de Gobierno, desde 1915 conmemoración de la Independencia Nacional y celebracion de todas las Glorias del Ejército
Aquí en la casa de mi hija estamos celebrando en familia,escuchando música chilena y de vez en cuando movimiento los pies al compás de la Cueca.
Anoche fuimos a una peña gracias a la invitación de la suegra de mi hijo que pertenece a un club de Cueca, sobre está invitación les contaré en otro post y de verdad es muy hermoso ver cómo los chilenos celebran sus fiestas patrias y el sentido que tiene para ellos esta fecha y la emoción con que lo hacen, cabe destacar que en los trabajos les dan aguinaldo y con eso las personas se ayudan para sus compras.
Es obligatorio poner la bandera sino son multados entre 70 mil pesos y 350 mil pesos, desde mi apreciación todos o la gran mayoría la ponen de manera voluntaria y en su mayoría las banderas son grandes, adornan con bambalinas, alquilan juegos, aquí en casa alquilaron una mesa de jockey.

The roast is accompanied by potato mayo, Chilean salad, coleslaw, beetroot salad and celery salad.

El asado se acompaña con papa mayo, ensalada chilena, ensalada de repollo, ensalada de betarraga y de apio.

For my husband @manros11 and me, this is a new experience that we never dreamed of having, but the most important thing is that we are celebrating it with our children and grandson, and that is a source of joy for us to celebrate with the people who welcomed our children to this beautiful country.
It is wonderful and very interesting to learn about other cultures and meet people of other nationalities, and above all, to see respect and brotherhood prevail.
I am grateful to this country and to all the Chileans I have met so far, and congratulations to everyone on your national holidays. I hope to be able to go to the fondas and enjoy this new experience alongside my husband.
It is important to respect the traditions and culture of other countries and show respect for their traditions and enjoy every moment you experience, so whenever you can, learn about the culture and traditions of others.

Para mi esposo @manros11 y para mí es una nueva experiencia que nunca soñamos vivir pero lo más importante es que la estamos celebrando con nuestros hijos y nieto y eso es un motivo de alegría para nosotros celebrar con las personas que dieron la bienvenida a nuestros hijos a este hermoso país.
Es hermoso y bien interesante conocer otras culturas y conocer personas de otras nacionalidades y sobre todo que prevalezca el respeto y la hermandad .
Agradecida con este país y con todos los chilenos que he conocido hasta ahora y felicidades a todos por sus fiestas patrias, espero poder ir a las fondas y disfrutar de esa nueva experiencia al lado de mi esposo.
Es importante respetar las tradiciones y cultura de otros países y mostrar respeto por sus tradiciones y disfrutar cada momento que se vive, así que cada vez que puedan aprendan sobre la cultura y tradiciones de otros.
