Happy Thursday, I hope you are having a great time, today I want to share with you a couple of photos that I took as part of an evaluation for college, specifically in the subject of photography. The evaluation was about choosing an editorial photographer that we liked and trying to replicate his style in a photograph.

I'll be honest, I didn't really know any editorial photographers, so the first thing I did was to start researching and looking for photographers, I came across some beautiful work, but Annie Leibovitz captured my attention. She is a renowned photographer from the United States who is famous for capturing photos of public figures and prominent personalities in popular culture.

She has a unique style that is highlighted by natural light, a cinematic approach and her works are usually emotional and dramatic, in addition to preferring the morning sunlight instead of the well-known golden hour.

After researching a lot about her and appreciating a lot of her work, I started looking for a model, and I got two for the price of one, well, first I had told my friend Leticia, but she convinced her sister and I went to their urbanization where there is a square and a park, that's where we took the pictures. We discussed the concept and agreed to take some pictures under the concept of brotherhood and union.

To guide my models I downloaded several of Annie Leibovitz's works on my phone to show them and to guide them. I took a lot of photos but in the end I only chose two, that although they handle the same concept, they are photos with different nuances.

I am grateful to my models because they really helped me to do my work comfortably, they paid attention to my indications and everything flowed in a very natural way, too bad that the delivery of this work was online and I could not receive as much feedback from the teacher as I would have liked, but I'm still proud because I got the highest grade, although surely the teacher would have had some observations to tell me.

For now I don't have any celebrity friends or public figures, but thank God I have good friends willing to help me.

The name I decided to give to this piece was, unbreakable union: It captures an intimate moment between two sisters, the composition focuses on the embrace they are giving each other, transmitting security and protection by the older sister, the name adds a poetic touch to the photograph, which generates curiosity in the viewer.

The unedited photos were very nice, and this represented a challenge for me, since I didn't know what values to edit to better highlight the photo, but after long hours of editing in photoshop I managed to improve the photos that in themselves had already been nice, what I did was to correct colors, saturation and contrast, in the photo that are on the wall, I also added a vignette to add more intrigue.

When it was time to present the photo I had a dilemma, because I only had to present one and I had to choose, in the end I presented the photo where they are sitting, which one would you have presented and why?

Holaa! Feliz jueves, espero la estén pasando genial, el día de hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un par de fotos que realicé como parte de una evaluación para la universidad, específicamente en la materia de fotografía. La evaluación se trataba de escoger a algún fotógrafo editorial que nos gustara y tratar de replicar su estilo en una fotografía.

Les seré honesto, yo en realidad no conocía a ningún fotógrafo editorial, así que lo primero que hice fue ponerme a investigar y a buscar fotógrafos, me encontré con trabajos bellísimos, pero Annie Leibovitz capturó toda mi atención. Ella es una reconocida fotógrafa proveniente de Estados Unidos que es famosa por capturar fotos a figuras públicas y personalidades destacadas dentro de la cultura popular.

Tiene un estilo único que se destaca por la luz natural, un enfoque cinematográfico y sus trabajos suelen ser emotivos y dramáticos, además de preferir la luz solar de la mañana en vez de la conocida hora de oro.

Luego de haber investigado bastante sobre ella y además apreciar bastante de sus trabajos, me puse a buscar a una modelo, y conseguí dos al precio de una, pues, primero le había dicho a mi amiga Leticia, pero ella convención a su hermana y fui hasta la urbanización de ellas donde hay una plaza y un parque, ahí fue donde tiramos las fotos. Discutimos el concepto y quedamos de acuerdo en hacer unas fotografías bajo el concepto de hermandad y unión.

Para guiar a mis modelos descargué en mi teléfono varios de los trabajos de Annie Leibovitz para ir mostrándoselos y que ellas se guiaran. Tomé muchísimas fotos pero al final solo escogí dos, que aunque manejen el mismo concepto, son fotos con matices diferentes.

Estoy agradecido con mis modelos porque de verdad se prestaron para que yo realizara mi trabajo cómodamente, ellas hicieron caso a mis indicaciones y todo fluyó de una manera muy natural, lastima que la entrega de este trabajo fue vía online y no pude recibir tanta retroalimentación por parte de la profesora como hubiera querido, pero igual estoy orgulloso porque saqué la nota máxima, aunque seguramente la profe hubiera tenido alguna observación por decirme.

Por ahora no tengo amistades celebridades, o figuras públicas pero gracias a Dios, tengo buenas amigas dispuestas a ayudarme.

El nombre que decidí ponerle a esta pieza fue, unión inquebrantable: Captura un momento íntimo entre dos hermana, la composición se centra en el abrazo que se están dando, transmitiendo seguridad y protección por parte de la hermana mayor, el nombre le agrega a la fotografía un toque poético, que genera en el espectador curiosidad.

Las fotos sin editar quedaron muy lindas, y esto representó un reto para mi, ya que no sabía que valores editarles para resaltar mejor la foto, pero después de largas horas de edición en photoshop logré mejorar las fotos que de por sí ya habían quedado lindas, lo que hice fue corregir colores, saturación y contraste, en la foto que salen en la pared, también añadí una viñeta para añadir más intriga.

A la hora de presentar la foto tuve un dilema, pues solo tenía que presentar una y tenía que escoger, al final presenté la foto en donde están sentadas ¿Ustedes cual hubieran presentado y por qué?
