The village of Lokh and the abandoned church

A few summer memories from last year. Saratov region, the village of Lokh, an abandoned church in the name of the Archangel Michael and some rural photographs. The church was built in 1825. Abandoned during Soviet times, it is now being gradually restored. Also on the territory of the village a manor’s house, or rather its ruins, has been preserved. Well, another local attraction is a well with a huge wheel that needs to be turned to get water.

It's great that these old structures with history to tell are being rescued, it's worth it, the photographs are charming.

Thanks for your feedback. Historical heritage is very important, and it is very good that it can sometimes be preserved. Not always, not everywhere, but still.

I'm happy to see the church being slowly restored. There are very few things more important in life than keeping those historical heritages alive and not left in ruins.

I don’t know whether the temple will be completely restored, but the fact that it will not collapse is already good. Not being a religious person, I like that such buildings are preserved as historical heritage.

Если не будет какого нибудь финансового вливания, то церковь будет востонавливаться вечно.

Обычно так и происходит, по моим наблюдениям. Деньги собирают всем миром, потихоньку что то ремонтируют и восстанавливают. Ну и не дают окончательно разрушиться.

У нас кладбищенскую церковь восстанавливали, ремонтировали, лет десять, а потом пожар и опять руины хуже прежних

Its great to see the church is being restored. It looks like it had some quite amazing frescos on the walls. It was be amazing to see these restored to their former glory !
