Abandoned Orthodox Church
Another abandoned church. Republic of Tatarstan, Gusikha village. The village itself is very small, no more than 10-15 residential buildings. And almost in the center rise the ruins of this church. It was built in 1875. After the consecration, it became known as the Church of the Renewal of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Jerusalem. Probably abandoned in the 30s. The doors are boarded up with boards, so I had to climb in through the window :)

Amazeing. I wonder what is the story behind it and why was it abandoned.
The temple was abandoned in the 30s, when the struggle of the state against religion began. Churches were closed all over the country, remade for rural needs. And the modern ROC did not need them, since they do not bring profit.
Very interesting. That part of the world interest me a lot. From the western Europe point of view no one talks or know much about it, it is like rediscovering a forgotten world. Thank you for the reply.
There will be more posts on this topic soon. About some objects, it may be possible to find a little more information.
Sounds great, looking forward to it.
I guess as the local population declined there was little use for a church so big, and I am sure it looked magnificent in its day. Nice very nice
Most likely it was. The exact history of the church is now difficult to find.
yes I guess it would be , still a nice old pile of bricks though
