Abandoned Church of the Archangel Michael

IMG_8800.jpg

Samara region, Pavlovka village. Sergievsky district. Abandoned Church of the Archangel Michael. Built in 1886. Abandoned during Soviet times. In 2019, the local Cossack community began restoration work. But they didn’t work for long - the money ran out. And this year, Moscow priests paid attention to the wooden church. Funds have been allocated, and restoration work has now begun again. Local residents inside the church set up a small museum from ancient objects found next to the temple.

These are great photos as always, but a sad story as well. Imagine, once this was the spiritual home of many.

This story may have a happy ending if the temple is restored.
