L.C.C TOURIST SITE IN LEKKI, LAGOS
Summary of the exciting moments of Lekki Conversation Center.
▶️ 3Speak
Guess who went for a little adventure last week...hehe!
Whenever I hear about exploring a place, I don't hesitate to jump on it because I love to get the experience, and insights and discover whatever history and the gratification lies within that place. Being there presently inspires me to look out for other tourist centers in Nigeria. Well, the world is big enough for one to remain in a spot for years! Yikes! That is way too boring! But it takes resources to finance and fuel this adventurous spirit hehe... winks

I wouldn't want to bore you my distinguished readers with the tales of how we got to the pre-destination before the main destination. We are a group of four friends, three beautiful ladies and a handsome gentleman all thrilled, zestful, and intrigued about what it is going to look like. That anticipation though!

Our Trip to L.C.C began,
LEKKI CONSERVATION CENTER is somewhere around Chevron Lekki, epe lagos. This conservation center is located in the middle of Lagos on the island. It is home to abundant plants and wildlife reserves that play a vital role in preserving the region's ecosystem.

When we arrived at the information center, Hakeem the gentleman in our midst proceeded to ask questions about how to begin the tour whilst the rest of us lurked around and exchanged pleasantries with the natural inhabitants mainly "monkeys" hehe.

One good thing about LEKKI CONSERVATION CENTER is that you do not have to spend huge amounts of money to get in. There is a stipulated entry fee for indigenes and foreigners, the indigenes can tour themselves or request a tour guide while the foreigners are strictly assigned a personal tour guide. Entry fee to the Nature wooden pathway is about $2 per individual while the Canopy Walkway is $3 per individual.

There's a paper wrist tag that identifies the payment you made and that determines where you stop. In essence, if one pays the $2 for the nature pathway without paying the Canopy walkway fee of $3 when one gets to the canopy checkpoint, one will go back or pay to go for the Canopy walkway that is if one wishes to proceed further.
The Canopy walkway is a 401-meter-long facility with its suspended walkway transversing the distinctive Lekki Conservation Center Nature Reserve to give a panoramic view of the forest canopy at its highest height of 22.5 feet above the ground level. Astonishing, right?

As I said, a tourist doesn't have to spend much to survey the whole environment but where one is likely to spend to an extent is in the area of entertainment, picnic gatherings, food, snacks, and drinks all in varieties. The rest of these fun activities like karaoke, playing ground chess, playing ground ludo, visiting golden fish ponds, treehouse climbing, children's park, and so forth are accessible.

The thing about Lekki Conservation Center is that there are signposts and warning posts almost everywhere you go. The security personnel take a turn in surveying the entire environment to avoid life-threatening situations or damage but most especially the welfare of every tourist. In any area where danger might be looming around, there would be a warning post just before it and they will address that to passersby to stay some feats away from that place. For instance, it is quite dangerous to get too close to a swarm of crocodiles, snakes, fish monkeys, and so forth.

We paid for the nature wooden pathway walk and then when we got to the checkpoint that connects the pathway and canopy upon sighting the canopy walk, we were all eager to experience the walk. Hurriedly we paid for the canopy walk and then embarked on the journey of heights! Geez...it's so thrilling! During our walk on the forest wooden pathway, I discovered this plant. Perhaps I should call it a fruit that has a similar look to palm fruit. I brought it down from a tree that was along the path we walked past and was looking forward to researching it to find out if it is edible or harmful to human health. Below are the pictures of the strange fruit I took with my mobile camera. So far my research for this plant is amounting to nothing. Maybe my dearest readers, one of you could help decipher this plant.

The fact that there are stages that even scared me more but I didn't know all this till I got there. Moreover, I figured this out after the whole experience. By the time I went through my gallery, I noticed the signpost and its pieces of information with fair warning.

Each stage has a stopping point (a balanced plane) where tourists can stay to catch their bearings, probably take pictures and gist about how they felt hahaha. I asked the security guard that was seated there if I could just stop and go back and he just pointed towards the signpost placed on the metal which says "a point of no return" then I shifted my gaze and it said, "the highest canopy walk".
At this point, I felt numb haha... all I could mutter was "I can do this" within me, but deep down I was already at death's door hahaha. Sincerely, I did not have the slightest idea that I would be drafting this adventure after my experience during the highest canopy walk in Lekki Conservation Center (LCC).

After the tour of Lekki Conservation Center, we came to terms that we needed refreshments but not within the premises of L.C.C anyway. So we took a cab to BlackBell Restaurant at Ikota, Lekki. Somewhere within the axis of the central island “lekki”, this idea was Hakeem's.

According to him, the way he portrayed the ambient atmosphere of that restaurant made us consent to take hold of the feeling. And yes!! It was so captivating to behold since I have this extraordinary liking and standard of how convenient and extremely serene an environment should be.

Upon entering the restaurant by the right-hand side, there is a bakery section where all kinds of pastries in their varieties are sold. By the left is the section where meals in their variants are sold, I was mesmerized and my hunger pangs increased alongside the rate of me being picky. If one isn't so careful, he/she might end up taking one scoop of all meals hahaha 😂😂.
My experience so far was one of a rollercoaster ride, a memorable one and I wished to go for another tour again despite knowing that I am somewhat afraid of heights. I hope you enjoyed my post, Kindly vote, comment, and engage. Xoxo

It's really fun to witness this act of walking on the canopy walkway, I'm sure when you come to Nigeria you would have your experience too hehe!

You sure had fun, I love the photos, they are lovely and you look beautiful.
I saw that mystery fruit by the road site when I was returning from school.
The place looked like a garden and the fruit or whatever it is was red.
It us indeed boring to stay one place to so long, but without money, one has no choice but to remain in their houses hehe
#dreemport brought me here.
And they went to have fun. Where are you guys seeing this money? . hehe. Just kidding
Great to see you guys had fun on your travel
