Tinolang Manok (Chicken Soup) - Family Dinner - Food Photograhy

Here is my entry for FOODIES BEE HIVE Community. 🐝

I just want to share our foodies last Saturday.

TINOLANG MANOK (CHICKEN SOUP WITH GINGER). It was a kind of chicken recipe in the Philippines that has soup and ginger. Tinolang manok generally have ginger, pepper leaves, and sayote or unripe papaya ingredients. But, this recipe I have cooked doesn't contain sayote and pepper leaves but I prepared eggplant as subtitute. I'm not sure if they also add tomato or not. But, I preferred to add tomato since my father said he want to.

INGREDIENTS

• Garlic, tomatoes, ginger, lemon grass, salt, chicken.

(The other ingredients I have mentioned was not included in picture because I forgot to take a picture of them.)

• Eggplant

I sliced the eggplant into pieces.

• Chicken

My mother was the one who managed the preparation of chicken so that the chicken will be ready to be cooked. She washed and sliced the chicken into serving pieces.

PROCESS

I only have one picture of the process done when I was cooking, but I still want to share the steps.

• First, I fried the ginger, garlic and tomatoes in a hot oil.

• I put the sliced pieces of chicken in the pan, then I put the lemon grass.

• Lastly, when it seems like the chicken are nearly cooked, add the sliced eggplant into the pan. Wait until the eggplant become soft because the taste isn't good when the eggplants were only half cooked. (My father was the one who did this last process, he did the completion of the cooking process.)
