¿Alguna vez has visto a tu mejor amiga llorar porque su papá no la acepta y acto seguido la vota de casa?

Yo sí, por ello no podía dejar pasar mi participación en esta linda iniciativa. Sufrí de primera mano cuan dolorosa es la incomprensión y más al venir de la propia familia. Hoy me alegra poder decir que mi amiga y su papá se arreglaron, pero aquellos días fueron muy duros.

Así que para las personas que creen innecesario dedicar un día, o un mes, a defender y dar visibilidad a los derechos de personas cómo mi amiga, créeme que no.

Aunque estemos en el siglo XXI y seamos una sociedad aparentemente civilizada, nos queda mucho por ganar en cuestiones de respeto y tolerancia.

I have, so I could not pass up my participation in this beautiful initiative. I experienced firsthand how painful misunderstanding is and even more so when it comes from one's own family. Today I am happy to say that my friend and her dad made up, but those days were very hard.

So for people who think it is unnecessary to dedicate a day, or a month, to defend and give visibility to the rights of people like my friend, believe me it is not.

Even though we are in the 21st century and we are a seemingly civilized society, we still have a long way to go in terms of respect and tolerance.
