My tips and tricks for a successful online dating profile

I was very amused by one of the topics proposed by @galenkp and like everything that amuses me in the #weekend-engagament I can't resist to reflect and capture it later in my blog.

Of the topics proposed by @galenkp the topic that caught my attention was:

You're writing your online dating profile this weekend. What are the three most important points you'd add and why? Remember to use your own photos.

It's been many years since I've made a profile for online dating, but back in the day I made one that I gradually shaped and corrected beginner's mistakes.

Photos

Photos are one of the most important issues in an online dating application. It is the first thing they will see of us and not to be one in the application we must allow us to be seen properly, so avoid sunglasses, hats, etc..

In order not to be discarded as a possible spam, it is important that there are many photos in your profile, but that these are not selfies. Many selfies and without appearing with other people in the profile gives a feeling of loneliness and despair. So try to use photos that show you happy and with friends.

The third tip related to the photos, is a logical question and is that it should be as current as possible. With this you will avoid the disappointment of arriving at the face-to-face appointment and being surprised that you are a much older person.

Personal information and tastes

It is important to give personal and truthful information when preparing the profile. Mainly, do not lie about age, height and weight. It does not work to lie in these fields, because at the moment that there is a physical appointment if we have lied the magic will be broken and it is very possible that in your profile on the page will end up appearing comments indicating that you are lying in certain data and your popularity on the page will go down.

In my case I'm 5'6", weigh 85 kg and I'm 40 years old. That is to say, when defining my body type I will indicate that I am slightly overweight and without any kind of complex.

It is very important to complete correctly the personal tastes that you have in terms of entertainment. If you are looking for a partner it is important to show your tastes for free time, since it will be in that free time that you will be sharing the first steps in love.

In my case, my profile would mainly reflect the following tastes

Walking in the mountains and enjoying nature

The beach, especially during the summer months

Organizing barbecues with my friends and family

A good concert is always welcome

A profile in which you do not show your tastes and hobbies is only giving numerical data and with that data there is usually no success.

Dating perspective

A very important question is the objective you are looking for with your profile. Are you looking for a man or a woman? Are you looking for friendship, a steady partner, sex without commitment?

If you are only looking for the same thing as the male duck with the female duck...

... it is better to indicate it.

It does not usually work a profile indicating what we are not looking for or at least it did not work for me at the time.

In my case, at present I would look for friendship with the possibility of getting to know each other better. I don't have the head for a stable couple and a punctual sexual relationship doesn't fill me. Maybe it's my age? HAHAHAHA
