That Chucky driving shot was one of my favorites from this round of curation. He almost got into the top 3. Hahaha Your Trunk or Treat looked like lot of fun. I especially liked the glowing Slimer from Ghostbusters in there.

I hope it motivates you to keep on keepin on! It's strange people aren't more open to photography there. But I did understand what you meant and how you felt with some of your thoughts. Don't judge yourself or your skills. Just have fun and shoot and you will end up with some shots you really like. Then just look at those and try to figure out what you like about it and keep that in mind next time you shoot. That is some simple advice that may help a little without getting all technical and whatnot. Phones take great photos too nowadays. Maybe try taking the same photo with your phone and then with your camera and see how you can use both for something cool! Cheers
