~ The Show Must Go On ~

I have been gone for almost two weeks now when i look back on things. My boy broke my laptop charger and I have been scrambling to get a new one.

I ordered online and the first one was not going to work. The thing is... i needed to get a charger that works to see if my computer is actually broken too or not.

I have had it full on with Dad Duty lately and not being able to get onto Hive has been devastating. I do a lot to manage and curate... but it wasn't until I had this 'break' in normal activity to realize how busy I really am over here.

I have many days of posts to go through in multiple communities and I feel so overwhelmed I don't know where to start. Fortunately, the second charger I ordered was a match and it came in the mail pretty quickly. So, I count my blessings. My computer isn't fully broken and it's not fully functional so I might be looking around for an affordable replacement.

It's not clear if many even noticed I was gone for a while. It's also not clear if many noticed the dip in OCD support since that is the main curation group I work for.

Hopefully, things will get back to normal as soon as possible and hopefully, we won't have any extra detours from normality. But, I can't make any promises. While yes, it's been nice to have a break... it's been a monkey on my back and a cloud hanging over my head waiting to get back into the swing of things.

I may be looking for a curator or two for when/if these types of event happen again in the future. Let me know in the comments if you might be interested in such a responsibility. I have a couple of people in mind already but before I approach them and ask I figure volunteers is even better!

I made this post mostly as an update but also because I found my camera I had lost in the move and I did take a few shots from the last and only real snow we had here this year so far. They aren't the best shots... but I loved the minimalism of the images and the white-out effect of so much snow! I didn't edit or crop any of these shots. They were all taken with my shitty point and shoot outdated Nikkon digital camera.

So, now that this update is out of the way, it's back to work for me to get caught up! hahaha Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read and look at my post. Cheers

I totally know that feeling. I used to get so overwhelmed just trying to catch up after the weekend, so I can't even imagine missing two weeks. That would be rough.

Yup, toddlers breaking things, not new to me! 🤣 I had my lil brother once broke the laptop monitor by closing the lid with the mouse in between... crazy. But you know, kids don't know any better and they don't even realize what they have done haha.

Really good thing the only broken is the charger and you found one that works.

Also I like those photographs! I thought this was mainly about that even haha.

It was my first time getting the camera out in a long time since I thought I lost it when we moved. So, it was good to get some shots. The oversimplified whiteout condition made the sad looking park bench a bit more interesting. Glad you liked the shots and yes, kids will be kids. He usually is trying to help or mimic what he sees so I didn't get too mad but still! hahaha I am most glad he didn't break the charging port on my laptop even though it's acting funky now.

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment! Cheers

Oh @castleberry friend!... I was surprised by your absence!... Now I understand!... I also had a mishap with my main PC two weeks ago, fortunately I had a small backup laptop for some of my things and that helped me stay connected... I hope everything gets resolved soon!... I send a big hug and my best wishes to you and your loved ones!... ;)

I’ve noticed your absence even though I haven’t been posting. I’m still keeping up with things. The “responsibility” “obligation” “guilt” whatever you call it can be overwhelming. Glad to see you picked up (found 🙂) your camera. And glad you’re back in business

Probably all of the above! hahaha I am not used to getting so far behind and starting has felt like a huge obstacle. But, things will settle down next week and I will have more help with my boy. Until then... i will just keep on keepin' on. Thanks for stopping by and taking time to comment. Cheers

I have noticed your absence and it is very noticeable, you are an essential part of Hive! But I understand what you are going through. I have also had difficulties this month. My mother sprained her foot and I am looking after her and doing the things she used to do until she gradually recovers.

I also understand the intense work, since my small team and I created a community there has been a lot to learn and work on, I understand you. But I am glad that you have managed to get the charger. Don't be overwhelmed... little by little! Big hug!🤗

I appreciate you and your kind words. I'm sorry to hear about your mom. Hopefully, she is healing up fast. It can be a big bummer when you can't get around and I know she is thankful to have you and your help.

Little by little I will get caught back up! hahaha Eventually

I help her as much as I can and she is getting better, which is very good, even if it takes time.

Nice to see you here again!😃

Wow, what a beautiful post, I would love to learn how to put the text in red letters. No problem, you can explain to me how.

div class="phishy" is how you make the text red. You have to nest it
< div class="phishy"> Your text goes here </ div>
Just remove the spaces after < and after </
I can't type the code or it won't show up. I hope that makes sense.

Hello, how are you? How are you? It's been a few days since you've chosen the best ones. I suspected that you might have contracted COVID and you're not feeling well. I'm glad you posted. But I'm sad because you didn't choose my last post😍🥰
@castleberry🙏

Fortunately, i didn't get Covid or wasn't sick. My computer was inoperable for a while. Let me get back to going through the posts and we will see yours in the mix. Thanks for your concern. Cheers

Dear @castleberry, I have to say that I noticed you were gone because your choice for Today's HotShots and other things hasn't been there for a while. But, reading your post made me laugh so much and you really brightened up my Sunday. People who have children must be everything in that blessing of life, even some clouds and monkeys if I read it correctly. But, you will only see today tomorrow what it's like to be a grandparent, how wonderful it is to have grandchildren and what a special kind of love it is. I wish you all the best in the future. And now, you have to get to work, my dear friend. Show Must Go On

It has been nice to be more focused on the time I have been spending with my little boy. He is quite the handful and I have to remind myself I will miss these days later on. So, until then... we will make the best of it. Thanks for stopping by and I am glad you got a laugh out of the post. Looking forward to seeing all of your shots that I have missed. Cheers!

Nice pictures, first at a glance I think design graphics work, or AI, is not a photograph but it is a pure photo. Anyway i am glad you can find a matching charger for your laptop. God bless You!

It really is pure photos since i didn't crop or edit them. The snow did all the hard work to be honest. I'm glad I got the right charger eventually too. God Bless You as well and thanks for stopping by!

On a first glimpse I read

~The snow must go on~

but then I read more carefully :)

Consider the broken charger as a gift vacation from your son and don't worry too much. We missed you but we survived :)

Nice to see a few pictures of yours too! Does it mean that the "vacation" did well?

The SNOW Must Go On would have been a better title! hahaha

It was kind of a gifted vacation. I had to surrender to the fact that I can't function at my normal duties using just a phone... so I took the time to rest (when I could) and enjoy the daddy duties.

I had these photos from a couple of weeks ago on my memory card waiting for a chance to actually post them. They made for some decent filler for this update post. I was fairly pleased that they turned out better than I expected. I didn't crop or edit them in any way.

Thanks for stopping by with some humor and encouragement! I always appreciate you.

Try a pre-loved laptop if the budget is not enough for a brand-new one.

That is an excellent suggestion! Thanks for taking time to mention it. Cheers

That photo says it all @castleberry. "Do you love your job?" So much so that it hurts sometimes. I understand. I did notice that you were AFK as we say. And you're usually not gone unless there is an unexpected occurrence. Children fill that void easily with whatever is going on currently in their own little world.

Your story reminded me of a time when my hubby "called himself" watching our youngest daughter. I came home one day to find her in the middle of my antique album collection. I almost fainted when I saw drool freely having it way with the 45s as she smeared it, then scratched the vinyl records. Hubby was asleep on the couch. The next day, I enrolled her in daycare. Three situations were saved that day...our marriage; my album collection; and my daughter's well being.

You're doing a fabulous job managing online and offline duties under overwhelming conditions sometimes. A break is needed ever so often.

Thanks for sharing. Our Profiles won't die without a few OCD visits. Take care and have a good start to your weekend.
