PEAK-A-MOON

I'd like to say this was planned well in advance but...

It wasn't.

In fact, I got home from work just about 10 minutes prior to the moon coming up and I thought to myself, "The moon looked pretty full yesterday, I should make sure I go photograph the full moon rising over the snow covered peaks tonight."

So I pulled out my hand dandy app called Planit for Photographers (a sort of ephemeris tool that I use to plan sun, moon, and star locations) and lo and behold the moon would shoot up right next to the peak 10 minutes from now.

I grabbed my camera, lens and tripod and literally walked out into the street (ok, I was standing on the edge of the street but that's besides the point). While I was out there waiting for the moon to rise a neighbor drove pass, waved, and asked what I was shooting. I told him the moon would be popping up just over that ridge any minute now. He gave me a thumbs up and drove on. About 1 minute later, a couple LDS missionaries were walking on by, and asked the same question, my response was the same. They turned to look at the ridge, and said "Cool, we'll have to look for it." Not even 30 seconds went by and the moon peaked around the ridge, and I could hear them about 30 yards away shout, "WOW! That is awesome, thanks for the heads up!"

About 10 minutes later after the moon had popped up in all it's glowing full moon glory, my neighbor drove by again (I think he went to get his mail) and said, "That is very beautiful, thanks for the heads up!"
