Hace unos días escuchè por la radio la entrevista que le hiciera la periodista venezolana Shirley Varnagy a Roberto Cannasa quien es conocido principalmente por ser uno de los sobrevivientes del accidente de los Andes; para refrescarles un poco más la mente tal vez su nombre lo han escuchado en la serie de Netflix “La sociedad de la nieve”.

A few days ago I heard on the radio the interview that the Venezuelan journalist Shirley Varnagy made to Roberto Cannasa who is known mainly for being one of the survivors of the Andes crash; to refresh your mind a little more, maybe you have heard his name in the Netflix series "The Snow Society".

Él contaba un poco de su experiencia, de cómo vivieron la pobreza extrema y de cómo desde aquella tragedia tan terrible le tomaron valor a todo lo que los rodea. Pero de todo aquello dijo una frase que no ha dejado de rondarme la cabeza “No te pierdas cada día porque los días son irrepetibles”

Ese día me sentí tocada por esa frase, en verdad me hizo
reflexionar mucho de lo que hacemos cada día, de cuanto desperdiciamos las horas y le restamos valor a lo que reamente vale la pena.

Desde poder respirar tranquilamente, poder tomar un vaso con
agua, tener un techo sobre nuestra cabeza o beber un sorbo de café por las mañanas, todo eso y más tienen valor, es lo que nos hace la vida mejor.

From being able to breathe easy, to be able to drink a glass of water, to have a roof over our head, to have a sip of coffee in the morning. All these and more have value, it is what makes life better for us.

Recientemente tuve la dicha de ir a la playa a disfrutar en familia de las festividades carnestolendas y les confieso que me disfruté todo.

Me disfruté su compañía, sus risas, sus juegos, sus buenos y malos chistes,todo y hasta lo malo también lo disfruté ya que no nos pudimos bañar porque el oleaje estaba muy fuerte; los vecinos que teníamos tenía solo música que a ellos les gustaba y había tanta gente que no pudimos ubicarnos frente al mar como hubiésemos querido.

I recently had the pleasure of going to the beach to enjoy the carnival festivities with the I must confess that I enjoyed everything.

I enjoyed their company, their laughter, their games, their good and bad jokes, everything and even the bad things I enjoyed because we could not swim because the waves were too strong; the neighbors we had only had music that they liked and there were so many people that we could not place ourselves in front of the sea as we would have liked.

En este hermoso viaje tuve la dicha de recibir en mi casa de la playa a dos personas muy queridas mi sobrino Alfredo y mi sobrino Darío, ambos con sus respectivas familias. Eso me encantó ya que los quiero mucho y con ellos la pasamos muy bien.

On this beautiful trip I had the joy of receiving two very dear people in my house on the beach, my nephew Alfredo and my nephew Dario, both with their respective families. I was delighted because I love them very much and we had a great time with them.

El lunes de carnaval nos fuimos a la playa “Puerto Francés” en Higuerote estado Miranda, de allí las fotografías que hoy les muestro; la verdad un lugar muy bonito y bien cuidado.

De este viaje me queda lo dicho por Vincent van Gogh “Si realmente amas la naturaleza encontraras belleza en todas partes” en verdad que no hace falta tener riquezas, lujos, comer en grandes restaurantes, si bien sabemos que el dinero nos puede dar lujos y comodidades la verdad es que eso no lo es todo en la vida.

From this trip I can remember what Vincent van Gogh said: "If you really love nature you will find beauty everywhere", in truth it is not necessary to have riches, luxuries, to eat in big restaurants, although we know that money can give us luxuries and comforts, the truth is that it is not everything in life.

Y como lo dice la biblia “cada día tae su afán” trae lo bueno y lo malo que nos toca, entonces lo mejor es llevar una vida tranquila, sin tantas preocupaciones.

And as the bible says "each day has its own eagerness" it brings the good and the bad that touches us, so the best thing is to lead a quiet life, without so many worries.

Ahora que estoy a punto de cumplir mis 50 años he entendido que la vida vale mucho y no hay que desperdiciarla en peleas tontas, en rencores, riñas, eso solo le abre la puerta a cosas malas y en cambio nos estamos entendiendo que en lo simple, lo sencillo es donde está realmente al verdadera felicidad.

Now that I am about to turn 50 years old I have understood that life is worth a lot and we should not waste it in silly fights, grudges, quarrels, that only opens the door to bad things and instead we are understanding that in the simple, the simple is where the true happiness really is.
